10nl How much to cbet in 3b pot?
How much would you cbet in this 3b pot? Only 4 hands on villain. I opted for 1/3 pot but it was more of a guess than knowing how much to bet

cbet size is fine
iirc in 3bet pots we can size down to 20% pot a lot of the time, don't remember the details - would be great if someone else could explain
I think I'd prefer checking the flop though, with the intention of calling most bets

I think the main reason is just lower spr in 3b pots meaning you need to bet less to gii, and also protects you from ip xr.
IP raise I mean.
But I think there are still boards where best sizing is closer to that in a SRP.
Your small bet lets villain raise cheaply; bigger c-bets deny equity and protect QQ on runouts.
On a monotone board you might want to size down even more. Check would be fine too imo
Assume he has a lower pair or one overcard (AK is quite unlikely). You got him completely dominated and want to keep those in the pot. Best case scenario - he has A♥ and has 12 outs. And vice versa, if he has Kx, you have 12 outs to beat him, unless this is KxJ♥, then you are almost dead. That can't be a lot of hands and they're not folding anyways. On the other hand, you don't want to bloat the pot too much - play cautiously on monotone boards.
As played, b/c and x/f - nothing you can do, but as you can see, for the money that he wanted to charge you here on the turn (17.2+29.4=46.6 BB) you could have almost seen the river, since I assume his bets would have been around:
- 13.75 BB flop if he bet half pot
- then the turn would be 27.5 BB for another half pot or 1/3 like here
= 13.75 + 27.5 = 41.25 BB
You could have seen the river for 37-41.25 BB, so slightly cheaper and then make your decision.
Small c-bet works well in 3-bet pots since ranges are tight. Don’t overthink it early.
