The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

lmao conservatives getting tilted for carney smiling is on brand.

I never got tilted Elbows Up

by Shifty86

Smiling at the monster that is the direct cause of all the pain and suffering in Canada. Our greatest existential threat EVER! Didn't you know he's threatening to annex Canada. Does Zylensky smile at Putin like that! Elbows up remember.

I saw you unironically defend Trumps blatant and might I add obvious market manipulation and insider trading. We can safely assume everything you say moving forward is garbage and should be ignored.

lolololol did shifty get so confused by elbows up he thought it meant you have to glare and grimace at trump? I guess if your notion of fighting for Canada is just symbolic maga BS, then ya maybe you would find some tension between that and smiling.

Like I'm sorry you lost an election. I'm probably going to lose the next one. Happens to all of us. We don't have to be whining about campaign slogans for the end of time because of how mad we are.

Usually fascist so not have much interesting to say anyway .

My mistake, did elbows up!!actually mean offering investment in the trillions over the next 5 years in the US?

Maybe we can get Trump to negotiate a peace plan with Alberta and BC

lmao. It's been cute seeing PP desperately try to make this seem like a terrible flub. You get that it is a GOOD thing if a Canadian company is able to under a free trade agreement to make money expanding into the US right? That unlocking our private sector to be successful globally is a good thing right? And similarly under free trade American companies invest in Canada? Right? Right? Right? Like you don't have to forget basic economics just because you are some big partisan.

100% a good thing. But I'm not the one that was cheering on elbows up! Claiming we need to band together and fight because we are in a trade war while people smashed bottles of Jack Daniels.

Maybe because Canada stood its ground trump was kinda force to negotiate …

LOL. I love it. How quickly the faux-outrage where you pretend to not be able to understand how basic economics works fades when pointed out how silly that was. You should tell Poilievre it's 100% a good thing, he is still feigning outrage over it!

Man that whole elbows up thing sure did a ****ing number on you.

Unlike you I am not a party zealot who just follows what their dear leader says. I don't care what Poilievre says, he has a role to play as opposition leader, doesn't mean I have parrot all his views, I care whats best for the country.

It really didn't, I called BS from the very beginning. I like Carney, I think the better relationship he has with Trump the better, I've said all a long Canada has no choice but to, you were the one that fell for it, said we need to band together and fight, you should be outraged Carney is a "trumpkin".

Stood up to Trump he just imposed more Tariffs and we have no clue if we are even close to a deal

Lets be honest I am sure Carney has a strategy and we will have to patiently wait as more industries announce they are moving operations to the USA. Stalantis just announced not setting up in Ontario but heading south

Yes the latest Tariffs hurt the USA but they still have projected GDP growth of 2% while Canada's is 1.8% . In light of this all we have certain premiers acting only in their own provinces best interest. Ebby is acting like his own country with no care for all of Canada . I hear him refer often to BC's coast when actually its Canada's coastline

by lozen

I don't think this is necessarily healthy imo.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/most-us-g...

Harvard economist Jason Furman recently said that AI investments accounted for nearly 92% of U.S. GDP growth in the first half of 2025. Basically, the entire American economy put its eggs in one algorithmic basket.

by Shifty86

I don't care what Poilievre says, he has a role to play as opposition leader, doesn't mean I have parrot all his views

Except you JUST parrotted his views. Like Poilievre just did the stupid pretends he doesn't understand what private sector foreign investment thing is and feigns outrage at a claim of a trillion dollars of investment. And what did you do? You ran - SPRINTED - here to this thread to make the same stupid point. I then pointed out it was stupid and you immediately folded and claimed to agree 100% with carney.

If you don't want to be accused of being a Poilievre clone, don't talk and act like him.

It really didn't, I called BS from the very beginning. Hold on, weren't you the guy who started the trump tariff wars by running - SPRINTING - to the thread to parrot "Secure the border" chants and blabbing on about fentanyl??? And now that it is crystal clear fentanyl was not close to the primary motivator of the global tariff wars (as we all explained to you) you don't have the humility to realize you utterly misread this?

Oh I agree 100 % this is similar to the dot.com bubble except this will be worse.

by lozen

LMAO of all the things to be outraged about. Like both are true. It is the coast of BC, which is a part of Canada.

No I didn't, I asked if that's what you invisioned when you completely fell for the elbows up campaign.

And what did Trudeau and Carney do? How many times has Carney mentioned Fentanyl in his press conferences with Trump? Again for the 27th time, who cares what the motivator was, Canada has no choice but to meet his demands, Like I said, like Trudeau and Carney both did and are doing.

by lozen

[B]

Lets be honest I am sure Carney has a strategy and we will have to patiently wait as more industries announce they are moving operations to the USA. Stalantis just announced not setting up in Ontario but heading south

Stalantis and Trump must not have seen Fords press conference where he poured out the bottle of booze like a gangster.

by Shifty86

No I didn't, I asked if that's what you invisioned when you completely fell for the elbows up campaign.

LMAO. I feel you should be coming at Poilievre not me. I mean he said the same stupid thing you said. And now that you seem to agree it is very very stupid, you should focus your attention on your side of the aisle who is pretending it isn't stupid.

And ya, making the case that free markets unlocks trillions of foreign direct investment going both ways is absolutely 100% completely naturally and completely obviously the type of thing I think the PM should be doing. Carney is almost uniquely well suited to be the guy making the kind of case. Man this elbows up thing really screwed with you guys. You were the guy who got mad that Carney was SMILING yesterday. Yikes.

by Shifty86

This is so weird. Canadians absolutely should be angry that Trump's tariffs are wrecking havoc in Canada - precisely as I said - and Stelantis sacrificing on the trump alter is just one more example. Politicians absolutely are going to tap into that anger, and Ford has given a kinda master class on how to do that (Poilievre probably would have won if he had acted more like Ford instead of burning bridges with the ford Team in ontario). I don't think anyone thinks that these political actions are like magically going to prevent stelantis from leaving due to the tariffs. But why the **** are you angry over them reflecting the genuine and legitimate anger of Canadians? Politicians SHOULD be angry they are leaving. It sucks. It sucks that Trump is doing this to us.

I'm not sure why you think I'm mad..... I'm making fun of the cringe theatrics Canadian politicians have been and are currently displaying and the stupid people that fall for it.

Angry at a President that is delivering on the promises he made . Maybe we should be angry at past provincial and federal governments that put all our eggs in one basket .
Maybe it’s time as ford says we fight bacc

Would you say our buddy Poilievre was doing "cringe theatrics" when he pretended he didn't understand how under free trade Canadian businesses could successfully profit by expanding into the US, and then reformed this as some big loss of Carney giving up a trillion dollars?

Because you parroted that cringe theatrics in this very thread!

Yes? Like ****ing obviously yes? People can - and should - be angry at Trump for the stupid trade war he launched that is harming us and harming them. You can't sugar wrap it by saying it was "delivering on promises" as if this excuses how stupid it is.

Why waste the energy just as I do not get angry when you call me Maga . The problem is most Americans do not see the harm its causing them

delivering on promises" as if this excuses how stupid it is.

yet you defended a job killing carbon tax that did nothing to reduce climate change

Lets be honest Justin did more to destroy Canada than any of Trump's tariffs
