Made $65k at NL in 9 days then moved up to 50/1 and 100/200 PLO5 and dumped it with no indication from this blog he should be playing either PLO5 or those stakes. Very Isilduresque. He says his drive is to “be the best” but seems way more like his drive is chasing a rush/high atm. Hopefully he gets this corrected

And don't look at my weekly wins/losses, just try to play as best as possible on EV+ tables, no more regwar, I've lost way too much money and energy. If one day I manage to secure $1 million in real estate, we'll think about it again.

Beside, I'd like to never look at my wins/losses again, stop counting my expenses, just try to optimize my grind, grow my bankroll, and use it only for the most profitable purposes possible.

Until now, I've always had the mindset that "a bankroll is designed to handle up to down a lot. « This is false, a bankroll is designed to optimize your EV on opportunities. You have 2 million, that's no reason to play all 10,000 live with turbo fields without recreate, you grind 1000/5000 and take the beautiful 10/25000

Having wasted this money will deprive me of magnificent opportunities to easily achieve great ROIs in certain expensive fields, and this is tragic. Being the best at poker isn't necessarily the one who's at the tables 24/7 and outfights everyone, but it could be the one who's made the most money by optimizing their EV. In the end, I've played so many hours that I'm the ridiculous guy who plays tired against in-form opponents. All this makes no sense and needs to change.

Being a pro at hold'em doesn't mean my bankroll has to be at risk for rummy/omaha/trading or whatever. Every business is different and you have to start from scratch. It's only in movies where you're suicidal that you can afford to reinvest a large portion in an area with little knowledge. It's like receiving an inheritance and arriving with all that money in a new field. Diversity is one thing, but you have to prove yourself before investing heavily.

Its official, my first year down in Poker, I realize that I have tried too hard with the game these past few months, whereas what allowed me to succeed, especially last year, was simply playing for pleasure, rarely but with quality.

Today I feel sick of gambling. I'm thinking of going back to a normal, demanding job in sports. I absolutely have to get back in shape for this goal; this will be my new job. As for poker, I'm starting from scratch with 25 buy-ins on a poker room, focusing on bankroll management. I'm restarting at NL100, like I did last year, simply seeing poker as my only game, playing purely out of passion and not forcing myself. Great if the results come, and no big deal if they don't. As long as I'm in top health thanks to my sports training, that's what matters most.

This challenge is going to be tough. I easily have $5,000, maybe even $6,000 in mandatory monthly expenses with rent, family, etc. Starting back at NL100 with $3,000 is going to be very difficult. If necessary, I'll dip into my savings, which I'd like to avoid. Let's give it until July 2026 and see where we stand. In any case, I'm ruling out any high-stakes online poker before reaching 500 buy-ins (2.5 million for NL5k). We'll see where this remaining $3,000 leads. One thing is for sure: no shitcoins, only BTC. Even ETH, when you look at it objectively, is way overvalued.

Oh yes, I unfortunately lost 60,000 in one night earlier this week. It brought me down a peg or two after that recent high. Honestly, I felt really awful afterward, even in bed. I've rarely felt so down. It's time to distance myself from these highs. I'm excluding myself from the various platforms offering expensive games for five months. If I make 125k online by then, I might feel compelled to go back to Battle Royale.

I think I absolutely must implement this system: anything that's cashed out will never again be added to any bankroll, and my live bankroll also needs to restart with two separate, unmixable bankrolls.

My last message, is always .. Same situation 6 months later, finally end 2025 at - 160k€.

2026 was crazy, Up + 184k$ around 16 March and since, big downsing, lose everyday.

Actually, around + 85k$

But i feel verybad, some much spending, fees in hotel and Again losing money in crypto in january / february by down IRAN etc .. ZzzzZzZz

Actually every session are verybad for me, i feel make some wrong move / punt, probably need to break up, and come back Sunday, fresh. I've did a back to the gym, i feel good on this point, i've to reach it, honestly disappointed about poker, i don't trust anymore this game. Too much variance, only way to trust are some game low variance with big volume possible, not 400 tournaments live for 3 years grindind / 2000 MTT Only for grinding sunday every week tour. Even with 100% ROI, this variance is insane.

I still have some money, around $300k to date. But I have to be honest with myself, I can't really see myself losing it. After so many years of poker, it's supposed to be my minimum security for retirement.

I think it's something many players forget: putting money aside. You can't consider all your money as play money, so it creates a kind of personal debt below a certain threshold.
