The murder of Charlie Kirk
Can we all admit that the majority of extremism is coming from the left over the last handful of years?
Apparently they j
In fairness I would say most Dems dont endorse the idea or the rhetoric and wish it would go away. But they have been outflanked by their own extreme who still use the term in earnest, and they wont renounce because they have ceded them the moral high ground. So they have to resort to making the argument Whatthejish is making, which is completely unsatisfactory and hurts them
Of course, in the same was that most (small-c) conservatives likely abhor Trump and everything he stands for.
The problem is that it's not unreasonable for voters to take things politicians and advocates say literally. If people on your own political aisle don't call out this nonsense, then extremists feel sufficiently enabled they think it's okay to shoot people who disagree with them.
I'm suggesting hat if people don't want to defund the police or abolish prisons, then don't say it. If they are just being provocateurs and "They want the exact reaction you're giving them by taking it literally", then well done Dems! Your 4-D chess gaslighting conservatives made you completely unelectable and got middle Americans to vote for an egotistical man-child who is on
I agree. But that's more the Progressives. Establishment Dems blame them for getting Trump twice. Of course, couldn't have anything to do with who they decided to put out there, with Clinton, Biden and Harris. My hunch is that Progressives cost Clinton the election. But again, a better establishment candidate would have won, too. Personally, I'd rather they just form a third party, since the differences with the mainstream, establishment or whatever are probably irreconcilable. But they won't because they wouldn't have a chance of winning on their own. The mainstream will just equalize like it always has. Not everyone on the right is a Trump fan, so it might be lose one Progressive, gain one from the Independents/Republicans, especially if the Dems were then free to attack them rather than pander for their votes.
So with this ‘all American Super Bowl halftime show’ it took all of what, less than a month after the guy died for Kirk’s widow et Al at good ol turning point to remind the world the true underlying bullshit kirk stood for?

Sorry homie, you don’t get to sit there and claim you are gonna weaponize everything Chuck fought for, pull this ****, and have the world need to buy into the idea turning point at its core isn’t about hate against what you define as the ‘invading horde’

Yeah, Clinton, Biden and Harris were all terrible choices for different reasons. Clinton was just toxic and she still nearly won. If I'd had a vote, that election would be the only one I'd have considered voting Trump - I'd have voted Biden and Harris without giving it much thought at all.
Dems ultimately need to find a way of purging themselves of the toxic far left. Otherwise, they are unelectable.

What's hilarious is people were saying the same exact thing about Republicans after they lost almost everything in 2018 and 2020 and kept their heads above water in 2022.
Providing Trump doesn't find a way to cancel/rig midterms, which he 100% will be attempting to do and has a good chance of succeeding, Republicans will get slaughtered again and the Dems don't even need to do anything specific other than just letting Trump be Trump.

Nah. They're all fired up. Republicans are going to get a massive midterm turnout. I agree, the Dems are just sitting back, though.
Progressives are fired up too. I don't think they have much chance of taking seats from Reps, but wouldn't surprise me to see them taking some establishment Dem seats.

Trump's ratings are in the toilet and he says and does ******ed chit all the time and most Republicans back him. A year from now he will be in the low 30's when people are tired of eating tariffs and healthcare costs. In terms of seats vs Republicans, Dems and Progressives are the same thing.

His approval rates could drop into the single digits... doesn't mean they won't show up and pull the red lever if they think the blue is worse.
And where are you guys getting this stuff about the Reps preventing the midterms? Seems like question begging.

Well, of course. Anyone Trump supports is going to get his 30%. The middle is what wins elections. Him being in the single digits would never equate to the other side being worse to those in the middle.
Huge lessons were learned in 2016 and 2020. Trump had next to zero chance of winning if Comey didn't open an investigation into Hillary 11 days before the election and that information swung the middle to vote for Trump. Then Trump was such a ****** that an old establishment politician with possible dementia who didn't even campaign was a better choice than having more of Trump.
He's on the same trajectory except worse - he has full support in shitting on the Constitution.
And where are you guys getting this stuff about the Reps preventing the midterms? Seems like question begging.
Right, and this is where you going to tell me that we need troops in the streets. I think it's a lock that Trump will invoke the Insurrection Act in some city tomorrow.
It's hilarious you would even ask such a question after what happened in 2020 and all the bullshit about alternate electors and release the kraken and all that other bullshit.

What are you even talking about? He’s going to lock up all the state legislators and seize executive control over the states? Post troops outside polling places or order everyone to stay home under penalty of death on voting day?

You'll have to ask him what advice Putin gave him.
I mean, did you ever think you'd see the day a sitting US president would defy a Supreme Court order?

In my lifetime Democrats only win the presidency with moderate candidates and/or when the Republicans have created horrible situations.
JFK won in 1960 and that was a very close race against Richard Nixon who had frozen during a TV debate. JFK would have won again if he had lived but LBJ as Vice President got elected in 1964.
Richard Nixon who lost to JFK in 1960 won in 1968 and it was a result of a few things. The civil rights act pissed off the south. The Vietnam War was inexplicable. He may have lost to RFK but RFK was killed close to the end of the primaries. Democrats lost to Nixon because their party now represented Black people's rights and the South had basically completely turned on them.
In 1976 Jimmy Carter a moderate Southerner beat Gerald Ford because the country was sick of the Republican party (because of Nixon) and gas prices had skyrocketed in 1974 (though they went back down in 1975). And Carter was a moderate Southerner. But Carter lasted only one term.
In 1984 Mondale who had been VP lost to Reagan in virtually every state even though Reagan's first term had been fairly awful (inflationwise) and Reagan an actor like Trump had basically misstated everything.
In 1988 George HW Bush beat a MA Governor who had appeared in an ad driving a tank and was mocked as a result.
Then in 1992 Bill Clinton a moderate Southern Governor beat George HW Bush because Bush's popularity went down and there was a 3rd party candidate who was a conservative in some ways who took like 15% of the vote.
In 2000 VP Gore a prior TN Senator was leftish. And to note Senators rarely beat Governors in Presidential elections. But Gore did actually win, but the Supreme Court with a majority of Republicans ruled that there couldn't be a recount in FL because it wasn't part of State law. There were 3 recounts after the election. The one done by Republicans showed Bush won. The one done by Democrats showed Gore won. And the neutral one had Gore winning as well.
In 2004 George W Bush (who like Reagan and Trump rarely said things that were true) won against a liberal Senator from MA. But he won by very little and it was Ohio that was the difference. Ironically the owner of the company that made election counting machines in Ohio had said before the election that he wouldn't let Bush lose. And then there was the war in Iraq that Bush had started based on a lie (that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction). But given that the US was at war Bush (a con man who likely had been an alcoholic) kept the Presidency.
In 2008 Obama beat McCain for obvious reasons. The economy had tanked under Bush. And McCain had chosen a VP candidate who was incapable of making any sense. But again Obama was more a centrist than leftwing. Though I was stunned that a Black man (well mixed race) won a Presidential election in my lifetime. He won a second term easily after creating the ACA which meant that people with medical conditions could get Health Insurance and where Medicaid became available to many more people. The significance of this affected homelessness where roughly 25% are homeless because of medical expenses. Also the irony of Republicans calling the ACA Obamacare came to light when if they had called it Romneycare Mitt Romney might really have had a shot. Though the economy under Obama was spectacular and he had saved US car companies.
In 2016 Hilary Clinton lost because nobody really liked her. And she was a woman. And she failed to choose Bernie Sanders as a running mate. Anyone on the Republican ticket would have beaten her. Just like anyone else on the Democratic ticket would have beaten Trump.
In 2020 Biden won. He had been a moderate Senator. And basically as VP he had singlehandedly (though accidentally) made gay marriage a movement that ultimately got approved by the Republican majority supreme court.
In 2024 Kamala looked like she had a shot but she was both black and a woman (ironically a high % of black men turned on her). The economy had been rough under Biden inflationwise, mostly due to Covid. Though because Trump had shut down the Mexican border during 2020 food inflation had soared as a result because billions of tons of food was never picked.
So Democrats have won with popular left leaning candidates when the opponent and/or circumstances sucks. They have also won with moderate Southern Governors due to odd circumstances. But basically in this country, given the Southern states political situation it takes either a great candidate or terrible circumstances (or both) for Democrats to win the Presidency. And that is basically where we will be in 2028.
Now it is likely that Trump will try to run again or try to stop the election from happening or try to rig it like he did after he lost in 2020. But it is likely that Trump won't be allowed to run. And the current ridiculous situation with the Immigrants (and ICE and State Troopers in US cities) and windmills and tariffs and inflation and the massive reduction of Medicaid (like probably close to 20,000,000 people who will lose access which would mean about 25,000 more deaths a year) and all the lies (or at least the not telling of the truth as Trump may not even know that he is not telling the truth at this point) and the fact that basically no current Republican politician will speak out about the Trump ridiculousness, will make the Presidency possible for any Democratic candidate.
You'll have to ask him what advice Putin gave him.
I mean, did you ever think you'd see the day a sitting US president would defy a Supreme Court order?
Yes when Biden was told he could not forgive student loans and when Obama killed an American citizen without a trial (I supported that one)
New marching orders are in; Republicans don't mind Nazis because Charlie Kirk was murdered
Nevermind that as more information came out about the shooter the less the right has talked about him. Curious why that might be....
Can any of you right wingers stop being intellectually dishonest for literally a single post and express some concern over the things that are happening? Do you have any moral compass left? Have you sold your soul out completely? Are any of you even human at this point?
Serious questions
Yes when Biden was told he could not forgive student loans and when Obama killed an American citizen without a trial (I supported that one)
Isn't the whole point to be less corrupt? I thought they were draining the swamp? Why are you handwaving corruption as simple whataboutisms when a huge part of why you were so hard on for Trump is because you believe the narrative that Biden and Obama were endlessly corrupt?
Why have I asked multiple right wingers simple ****ing questions 15-20 times int he last couple of weeks and have received literally zero direct answers?
Is it because these simple questions would force the respondent to break kayfabe or admit their hypocrisy thus shattering the simulacrum they have delicately created?
In 1988 George HW Bush beat a MA Governor who had appeared in an ad driving a tank and was mocked as a result.
I listened to a podcast a while back that talked about the tank event. His younger staffers went out ahead to plan the event, and came back and told the senior people on the campaign they didn't think this was a good idea. They were basically told to shut up and that they were doing it. The rest is history.

I believe all three of them are corrupt in not following the constitution . How about we be consistent in the condemnation of all our leaders . So if Trump is guilty which I think he was of the documents than Biden is as well .
If your outraged at young republicans text messages you should be even more outraged at a grown man running for AG caught texting we should kill his opponent with two bullets and his children should die

Never asked me any simple questions
Your example of Bidens corruption was student loans and his student loan forgiveness was blocked
Your presentation of the AG text messages are legitimately made up. Kind of insane
I dunno what to do with people like you. Just pure fabrication of reality to justify being awful relentlessly. Its a big part of whats wrong with the world right now

No the supreme court rejected it and he looked for a end around

“Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, hitler, and pol pot. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head,” the text reads in part, referring to Gilbert and the two dictators.
