Seems like a lot for HOA.

The exacte opposite. $220 for a development with a pool is low. Especially if the community also has a clubhouse with a weight room.

Is a RFID card needed for entry to the pool?

Nice

Lol. I'm currently staying in a 2BR 2BA vacation condo (owned by someone else) and the quarterly fees are posted at almost $5k. THAT seems like a lot.

The HOA includes water, sewer and trash removal as well.

I don't think there's a weight room. Going to need a gym membership.

Must be a Vegas thing.

A local luxury gated community has a $90 monthly HOA. There's a clubhouse with a gym and pool, maybe tennis courts too. But there's no water, sewer, or trash pickup included.

$90 is WOW!!! But I also suspect the HOA is well under funded. Either they are running down excess reserves because they used to over charge OR they choose to handle all one time expenses via accessments.

HOA are not common at all here, but the few we have, I have heard of none that low.

Wife also owns a condo in Fla. These are I am goign to live there full time or at least 6 months a year, they don't get rented out. They are not for tourists and don't have crazy amenities. Plus they are 50+ year old units and no where close to anythinh touristiee like the beach.

Her monthly fee is multiple of $90. Her fee is also one of the lowest around (and a great selling point, part of the reason she got it in inheritance.)

I forgot to mention that there are no condos in the community I mentioned, only houses. No roofs or parking lots to maintain. Common areas are minimal, mostly just around the clubhouse.
