The ongoing situation in Gaza has been going on for the past two years. Genocide scholars are viewing this as a genocide not whatever you bring up from 75 years ago or 100 years ago.

By a wide margin, more civilians are being killed in this “war” in Gaza than in the Russia Ukraine war for example.

So people all over the world, including a lot of folks who support Israel, but are critical of Netanyahu…. Are also critical of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But then there’s a segment of people who support the war in Gaza.

And Russia is despised by Fox News and CNN. They never interview pro Russia generals or media personalities. On the other hand CNN and Fox News are giving a voice to pro Netanyahu people all the time. Your point is so easily proven wrong by the major left-wing and right wing media platforms in America, giving a platform to people who support the war in Gaza. While those same platforms basically view Bassar Assad or Putin as the devil.

I guess I missed the threads about the ongoing genocide in Sudan and the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Uyghurs in China.

Do you understand this is a culture war that is occurring? I honestly can't tell from how simply you look at this issue if you have any grasp of what's going on.

I'll frame it this way. Do you think Hamas and the Palestinian people are fighting for the right culture? Do you support their views on gay rights, religious freedoms, women's rights, etc... ? Are these important issues for you culturally? Because both sides are fighting ultimately for who has a better moral purvey of society.

You're making a lot of assumptions about things, and acting as if Hamas and Palestine are only victims of this situation. I want to move past that, because you're not going to see the bigger picture or have any kind of balanced view of this. It's very clear that's the case.

So instead, I'm asking you philosophically, do you agree w/ Hamas' cultural purvey of society? Yes, or no. Do you think these are ideals we should all adopt?

and I think before you demonize and condemn Hamas domestically that you should look at how Western Civilization treats gays and women and esp how they were treated in the last few generations.

There’s plenty of diversity and nuance with regards to both Palestinians and Israelis.

Same in Iraq or Syria for example where there are competing factions like for example Arab nationalists who are very welcoming to Christians and Jews and are quite secular.. compared to “islamists”. Ie in Baathist Iraq the vice president Tariq Aziz was Catholic… also historically pan Arabism and militant resistance to Israel has been led by Christian Palestinians.

These nuances are often never mentioned or overlooked by both sides. More so in the west by pro war in Gaza people who are more likely to engage in racist rhetoric ie “Muslims are taking over Europe” whilst simultaneously falsely accusing people of antisemitism, for example, conflicting criticism of the Israeli government with criticism of all Jews.

Most people are just trying to live their lives and would be surprised to hear they are part of the clash of civilizations.

Only 22% of Palestine is left, the rest has been seized by Israelis, who are still at it. It's a clash over land, not culture. Palestinians don't give two shits about what Americans think, much less trying to transform them in a culture war.

So if a culture doesn't collectively share your takes on LGBT rights, they deserve to be executed en masse? Would Jews in Weimar Germany have passed your test?
