FT - I know what he has - can I fold KK pre?

I’m 5/8 stackwise with around 40bb. Guy gave me a chance to stay alive by his “4bet” sizing. I angrily shoved while knowing what he has. Now im thinking - it’s a tie at best. Do I really have to?

I'm not sure why you bothered blocking the villain's cards when your post told us he has AA.

You can do what you want, but it's almost never the case that someone's range is exactly AA.

I never told he had AA sir

But I knew. Let’s assume he had idk AK, but I’m sure pre he has AA, cause of 2x “4bet”, should I still jam KK?

I’m basically craving for someone experienced writing me: if you know you’re beaten, you can fold KK pre on FT so deep&early

Lol, this is like 35xBB deep. Not deep compared to a cash game or early in some live tournaments. Not folding KK preflop.

Quite deep regarding the ft imo. Not?

You can't know he has AA, your ego is getting in the way of your thought process.

Of course if you can see his cards or something, then you fold.

I have folded QQ in some spots in online MTT but not KK. This is certainly not one of the spots where I would even consider it.

The dynamics of the raise exchange and his 4bet sizing left no doubt. I even intended to write him “Fcuk your AA” on chat and jam but that would be ridiculous, and I’m lazy (keyboard too far). Isn’t getting in with worse pp ridiculous too tho?

I summon his excellency Mr Rick

Lol, finding someone who will tell you this is a fold.

Hahaha Yes indeed 😁 that’s my contrarian thought, Peter Thiel would be proud

You ask a ridiculous beginners question, and then won't listen when everyone tells you the same thing.

Trust me, it’s not an ABC type of a question

He did a mistake with this 4 bet, and gave me a chance. He should’ve just shove and conceal his AA pre

Or at least 4bet more than just 2x. If he’d do either of those, I’d jam happily and don’t ever come with this here. His sizing was equivalent to flipping his cards face up

This is all so dumb. If you truly have a sizing tell here and know with 100% certainty (which I doubt) that V has AA, it's a simple math question and you don't have near enough equity for KK (including implied odds if you flop a K) to call AA there. If you can't really know for certain that V only has AA, then it's an easy jam.

What I think you are really asking is if anyone agrees with the certainty of your sizing tell. I don't and unless you have specific info on this player, you are making a ton of assumptions.

Getting coolered is just part of poker. If you play scared to this extent you have little to no chance of winning in the long run.

The old school term people used to use is MUBS (monsters under the bed syndrome). That's when you always think they have the nuts and then find occasions when they actually did to justify your fears, conveniently forgetting the times they had some nonsense (or in this case even AK or QQ).

It's a form of confirmation bias.

Yes, it’s the tell I’m trying to confirm here. Thank you for verbalizing that

I agree it works that way, I usually overshove/overcall in 3b pots. If he’d just shove here, I’d call him with AQs, AKo and JJ+, tens maybe. Here I knew tho

AKo, JJ+ to be fair

I was a little harsh in my previous post, but one thing I would encourage you to think about is where you are at in your own range.

For example, if you have a read that your opponent is overly tight, make adjustments by cutting off the bottom of your usual range. Let's say in a given spot your normal continuing range is AQ+, TT+. You have a read that your opponent has a very strong hand. You might adjust by only continuing with AK and JJ+ and folding AQ and TT. That would be a reasonable adjustment. You don't want to jump to immediately folding the near top of your range.

Here is a video I first watched years ago that caused a quantum leap forward in my understanding of the game of poker. It might help you too.

I don’t mind, I’m not a pussy, in fact I prefer criticism over its absence. I’ve recently joined Politics here, I suck at cards but I’m skilled in posting. Will watch in the morning

It might be fine to fold or flat call with QQ due to the bet size tell. However, KK is too strong. You aren't always right. Usually, you don't fold KK preflop 200xBB deep in cash games.
