Seminole Hard Rock (Hollywood, FL)
Just to be clear, I am no affiliated with the Hard Rock in any way but I am a regular patron with a vested interest in t
I thought the dealers were pretty bad. From what I've seen they are quite bad. If I'm comparing Vegas dealers to here, they get a 3 star, Vegas gets 9 stars.
I also agree that 9 dollars from a 2 2 5 game is pretty high.
I've heard Florida poker hyped up a lot. I haven't been able to decide yet.
Namaste,
Definitely agree with you regarding the dealers in Las Vegas (Aria & Wynn) being consistently better. They are the cream of the crop so to speak in my opinion. I would also add that the floor staff, while serviceable, for the most part are not as good/knowledgeable as those in Las Vegas either.
Regarding the games, I was home (Pompano Beach) for the entire month of April and played quite a bit (150+ hours) at Seminole Hard Rock as well as at Pompano a couple of times (strictly the 1-2-5 PLO as that is the only 4-card game) and I agree the time charge, especially when factoring in the $3 a hand promo drop (that is very tough for PLO players to win) is excessive. Despite that, the games to me where definitely way better than Las Vegas, but not as solid as Dallas (where I mostly play), Houston, or Austin.
Racetrack
I feel obligated to report some very subpar issues at this poker room:
1. Multiway, players are discussing hands constantly. Most of the dealers are not trained to ask them to stop. 90% won't say anything.
2. Players are stealing seats. If you're on the list, often times people will sit at the table before you're name is called.
I had this happen to me 3 times in the past 3 days.
3. They have a rule now where you have to draw for seats at 5 / 5 or higher at PLO, and 5/10 NL plus.
However, most of the dealers, high percentage of the dealers are not trained to do it.
And what happens is if some guy sits down and you ask him to draw for his seat, then arguments break out. They get upset.
Who ever is responsible for the performance of the dealers here is doing a terrible job. These are the worst dealers I've ever encountered, outside of the ones at the WSOP in las Vegas.
Nobody is checking their work in field. There is a lot of work to be done there, let me tell you. They need to start firing some people that don't know what they are doing. They don't seem to care at all or have any issue messing things up.
They have a nice room and games are ok.
Also the place is over run with European players. There are a lot of Euro pros inhabiting the place, particularly the PLO 5 card games.
Also this is random, any good fishing spots nearby where i can bass fish in a stocked pond. Similarly to the stocked pond at the card room actually, but in this case I wanted to do some actual bass fishing that's easy.
I want to venue select for the easiest bass fishing around Seminole Hard Rock area.
I'm also open to Hollywood beach area for other types of fishing or even further out if it helps out.
I have on my calendar to be in Miami November, December 2025, and April 2026
Thanks!
Note: I don't want to spend a lot of money or effort on this. If possible, just to crack a beer and do some fishing to relax and actually catch some decent sized fish, especially if I can cook it and it's tasty.
They are doing something new this week with the PLO 5 5 and PLO 10 10
The new structure has 5 5 with a 5 dollar ante. 20 dollar to come in for pot raise.
Before it was 5 5 10, 40 would be the pot size.
One week experiment starting today.
Anyone heard the story about this euro-nit getting banned? Something to do with cheating / angling

I love this change. Gonna be there this weekend just in time to be part of the experiment
