I will be interested to follow the legal challenges to California's ban on face coverings for law enforcement (including federal law enforcement), except for specific things like tactical gear, undercover ops, etc.
I don't want ICE agents wearing masks, but I'm skeptical that a state law that ostensibly is aimed at all law enforcement, but in fact is aimed at federal law enforcement, will survive. I also think the law is entirely symbolic. I can't imagine that state and local police will be ordered to arrest federal ICE agents for wearing masks.
