You bet the river to get called by worse hands or to get better hands to fold. Obviously in this case itÂ’s to get a better hand to fold. But what better hands will call the turn with the ace high board and then fold to a river bet? ItÂ’s pretty obvious that the second ace did not improve your relative hand strength - all hands you could have that were ahead ott are still ahead and all that were behind are still behind. If villain is bluff catching ott with Jx or something like that, he likely still will be. The second ace just makes it even less likely that you have Ax. The only combo I can think of that is ahead of you and folds would be a KQ trying to hit the gutshot straight. ThatÂ’s not enough, IMO to target for a third barrel. Just check back IMO.

EDIT - he might also fold a KT that would chop if you check back. Still though it isn’t enough to warrant a third barrel IMO. Plus your hand is blocking both of your targets, which also argues for checking back.
