Just curious what is ppl 4bet jamming with?

Just curious what is ppl 4bet jamming with?

Ok I go aggro 3bet light whenever in position with any playable hands.

I notice I'm getting 4bet jammed on a bit for 100bb after I 3bet only 8-11bb IP.

What range are they jamming with?
What range am I supposed to call with?
I would tone down my 3bets when I pick up villain is responding with these 4bet jams.

Are you playing anonymous tables or regular? If regular begin to take notes to exploit individuals while looking thru hand histories to get population tendencies. If anon tables you can still do the latter with your HUD. If no HUD available, it’s sort of up to you to pay attention to these spots and see what the general population pattern is. I would start off calling JJ+, AK, AKs and see if opps are out of line in general, then expand/contract my calling range from there. If you’re at the micros this will generally be a very misconstructed population range with too much weak Ax, KQ, and completely random air that opps are erroneously putting in as their bluffs.

Most regs are only ripping JJ+ AK, maybe TT/AQ if they’re spazzy. Start with calling JJ+ AK, then adjust if you see them jamming junk. At micros some guys punt weak Ax or KQ, so take notes and exploit.

Honestly a lot of people at 100bb aren’t balanced here, it’s either nutted or some random punt. I’d tighten up my light 3bets vs guys who are jamming a lot, and just stick to value-heavy 3betting until I know they can’t resist torching stacks. No shame in adjusting until you get reads.

I also see what I call the “WSOP effect” At micro tables from some villains. They watch poker tournaments on TV, see pros jamming hands like 44-99 shortstacked and don’t realize that a 100bb stack in a cash game is a very different situation from a short stack in a tournament. As a result, they think jamming pre is the right way to play their small to medium pocket pairs. I’d hold off calling too much with non-paired hands against these players (unless you like flipping for stacks 100bb deep), and just mostly call with TT+ or maybe even JJ+ against them.

It’s cash, let them over bet and fold better prices to call in alt spots

If you 3bet ppl 11BB at a significant frequency they can profitably shove 88 I assume?

Wrong!....if OP understands, that 3betting wide affords stacking off wider

At 100bb most 4bet jams are either premiums or random spew. Just start tight with JJ+ / AK, cut back on the light 3bets, and open up once you catch someone punting.
