I've been rescheduled by Safelite 3 times now while they wait for a windshield for my 5yo Sportage. For those keeping score (I am), this is only the second windshield I will have replaced in 40+ years of driving.
Insurance covers, but it's going to be ~$900 for replacement/recalibration of "safety" equipment.
Yesterday my manager reached out to me to let me know if was receiving a 6% pay increase. Our normal review/raise period is in April, so this is above and beyond the usual. I didn't ask if it was for everyone, but I was informed that it was due to the company performing really well.
Timing is perfect as I found out my car has a small transmission fluid leak. I'm having it looked at Monday. It has 170k miles, so I'm at the point where things may start needing to be replaced. With this pay increase, I can start saving and budgeting for a car payment. Plan is to start looking in May, after I sign a new lease.
Putting Vegas on hold - working on things with my gf and planning to stay where I am for now. Vegas will always be there if things don't work out with her.

You can also get the same fix using an $8 tub of rubbing compound and its only about 1 beer long process
I had left my phone charging in my man cave (garage) and was working on my computer in the house (compiling PEEHS scores, hard work right?) So I didn't get the text or hear the phone ring from one of my renters.
My doorbell rings and it's a young lady I don't recognize thru the peep hole. I opened the door wondering what sales pitch I was going to get (solar panels or home security?)
It was the sister who was visiting said renter that had locked herself out of the house. The front door has a battery operated keypad that died and the back door has a deadbolt, the only key of which they have was in the house.
Enter rent house key organizational skills. Yes I ordered key tags from Amazon years ago (cue procrastination)
1st key I tried worked and I got a big hug from the young lady. Also bought a lottery ticket. I'll let you know how that works out.

Yep. Truck is a 2010 Avalanche. Only has 153,000 miles as I worked from home before working from home was all the rage.
Figured I'd get a new vehicle before I'm forced to buy an electric one. The one parked next to it that you can see the back tire is a naturally aspirated 2025 AWD Honda Pilot Black Edition with a gas V-6 engine and an 8 speed transmission. Not gonna win any drag races, but can comfortably hall 8 adults.
First vehicle I've owned that wasn't a Ford or Chevy. Absolutely love it.

That is a custom built angled foot rest. Ie a short piece of 2x6 wedged under the dash.
Yet poor ol' Earl is relegated to hot wiring the tractor to get to the local bar at night. He could bring home a frisky date in that Honda!

Contrary to popular belief in these forums, my daily ensemble is gym shorts, T-shirt, tennis shoes, and either a truckers cap or an old straw cowboy hat. Boots and jeans are for working and I try to avoid that whenever possible.
Don't know what they sound like on a gym floor or a tennis court, asi haven't been on either one since high school.
My motto is I know how to do it, but why bother when I can pay someone else to do it. Or it's possible I'm just lazy.

Since we're on old trucks, here's mine:
2002 Ranger. Five speed with a 6 cylinder engine (3.6L? can't remember). ~102,700 miles. Don't drive much, especially during summer.
It's gotten to the point where it's just an around-town vehicle. Had problems with it out in BFE in my early retirement years, so don't roadtrip with it like I used to.
Still in good shape though. Will need a new transmission at some point, but it's still chugging along.
Had a rando ring the doorbell this summer, asking if I wanted to sell. Drove by and saw it in the driveway. I gave him an outrageous number, as I really like it for its purpose. He asked for a serious number, and I said that was it, that's how much I don't want to sell. He was ok with that, figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
Speaking of vehicles, I just bought a new one today. Had a 2017 Outlander with 170k miles on it, and was ready to upgrade.
Ended up with a 2025 Outlander, lots of new features, and a sunroof!
