I have several text from friends this morning from the SM feeds, of their friends, people they know saying the right is under attack from the radical violent left (gee, wonder where they get this language from lol)... and talking about how Kirk was a man of Jesus, and liberals hate God and Jesus and all this nonsense.
I'll be the voice of liberals in here. No liberal wants right-wingers dead... we just want you to use your ****ing minds, and wake up from this cult you're caught in.

Like the AOC Bernie ticket is significantly more radical from a policy standpoint than anyone in the last 2 decades. Kirk is only some sort of hate monger to warped people. Warped people can't accept political differences. He's as close to the center or closer than AOC or Bernie
He's not even a politician like them. I just can't imagine sane people exhaling their pent up rage if AOC was shot. Conflicted about how much they hated her and principles around violence. It's just so glaringly obvious here about Kirk
The left has gone down some dark paths with using violence to pursue their political agenda this last decade but it also stems from an unhealthy amount of hate they're occupied by in general. It shows in their total lack of tolerance which is a reversal historically

If you insist on pulling on conspiracy threads, you probably would be better off speculating that the rounds were planted than that the whole shooting was staged. The former would be a lot easier to pull off than the latter.

I think the right has more apparent and immediate issues in this regard, but this is a symptom of our politicians and society cozying up to extremists. I had never listened to Charlie Kirk, but it sounds like he basically went around trying to indoctrinate young and dumb kids by pushing misinformation and conspiracy theories.

he went with normal rightwing takes to people who have been indoctrinated by actual leftist extremist every day in k12 and in college. And they spread like fire because that's what truth and basic decency does when it hits fertile ground.
Then yes he ALSO spread some lies/bad takes (anti-abortion excesses and 2020 election denialism). Unfortunately with only 2 sides that's the normal outcome.
But i mean until you guys accept, admit and realize that every single person who was in favour of lockdowns and mask and vax mandates is a freak, a monster, an actual extremist incompatible with civil society, and worse than the worst rightwing person could ever be, at least for under 30 men, you won't realize what motivates people who still have some testosterone left in their body.

Well, I did. And I'm glad I did, because now I won't get to. Yes, Charlie and I disagreed a lot and about really important things. But somehow we didn't lose our humanity. We were still fellow Americans.
We can all choose to hate each other now. That's a normal, human reaction. We can choose to blame each other, and I'm sure we will, endlessly. Or we can defy the voices of division in the country, and have a beer together. This time, in grief.
If you really want to strike back at whoever did this, listen to each other instead of hating one another. They want us to hate each other. Treating one another as brothers and sisters, as a united America, would be a historic act of defiance.
Since I'm on the left, I'll go first. For everyone on the right, and most especially the Kirk family, I am so sorry for your loss. I share your grief and I want you to know our hearts are with you!

I don't know anything about highly trained snipers, most of whom I assume are current or former military. Would they ever aim for neck if the target was entirely exposed (i.e., no helmet, no Kevlar)? I wouldn't think so.
My father was a military trained sniper, he retired as a relatively high ranking officer. I’ve seen my father shoot his rifle many times.

One that stands out to me is we had a rattlesnake in our yard once and our dog was attacking it. We called for our dad for help, and he emerged from the second story deck of our house with his rifle. The snake was rearing up and our dog was darting and lashing at it. My dad took one shot from an acre and a half away, we thought he had missed because the snake seemed to keep moving in the same way. My dad was unconcerned, walked out to the yard, picked the snake up by the tail, and showed us that its head was missing. Just a perfect shot on a very small moving target from a distance. You’d be amazed.
