First hand of the night
1/3 8 handed, home game
This is our 2nd time here.
Last time we were here, it played like 5/10. According to the host, it was because there was a huge maniac that was there. Supposingly it's 'normal' now. As for what normal means is subject to interpretation.
We just sat down, this is like the very 2nd hand.
Mp opens 15, Mp+1 calls.
We pick up KJo in btn.
We just bought in 500, the whole table cover us, they all have like 1k or a bit more. It's no longer 5k~10k+ stacks.
What's our plan here?
3bet? Call? Fold?

I would fold. I would need some specific reads to play KJo from the BTN following a raise and a call.
Folding and not really thinking much about it. If I knew the players / game better other options open up. But as described, just lay it down.
Fold
3-bet feels too loose this early, call > fold imo.
Fold. Maybe call if you remember these two players and how to play against them, but mainly fold.
Easy Fold
Is the game wild/juicy? Will your host appreciate you being the wild juice? I mean by all means squeeze if you are happy showing down your junk on your very first hand and facing the consequences/being able to adapt. Otherwise this is just a bogstandard fold the way it would be most of the time. What's the harm in folding and just watching other players for a while?
all options are available, none are great. We know MP2 is weak so if MP1 was opening light and we 3bet we might iso MP2 nicely. If they both call then just play straight up and make sure we dont get shat on. Calling accomplishes largely the same thing and keeps the pot smaller which is fine. Folding is like whatever, dont hate it but we're just giving away edge for no reason.
I’m folding this hand most of the time.
I could 3bet here & establish the fact that I will be aggressive in position. If I take this line, it’s with intention to bluff post-flop most boards, so it’s risky. Home game early, I expect wide opens, so why not pressure them. If it turns out they both have premiums, I will have to adjust.
Probably whatever evaluation I have of villains even it’s just looks will sway my decision. If I don’t have the feeling that I can manipulate them with pressure, it’s a fold.
Just my opinion, but I think calling is a terrible option. It smells like fit or fold - when are going to connect on the flop with KJo in a big way? And, instead of checking to the raiser, villain will keep barreling.
I don't play home games so my answer doesn't factor in all the invited-back / shenanigans / etc. stuff. In a casino poker room i don't even think twice about folding this.

Bad thought process. Your goal isnt to establish an image, it's to play against a certain type of hand. We already know one of them doesnt have a premium, lets find out if the first guy does, then we can play accordingly.

Again this is a leak, you cant just bend the table to your will. "I'm going to represent a boat" when the flop is AAJ. What you represent is meaningless if someone has an Ace, so your intention postflop is to find out what they have BEFORE you lose a bunch of money.

same leak as before. You dont just get to manipulate people with pressure, because guess what; it's not gonna matter if someone hits the board in a big way. The only pressure you can use is if you find out their range is weak, which we dont know yet.

You dont know what he's going to do. Maybe he has JTdd and the flop of 456hh. He's not going to barrel into 2 players OOP. That is unless of course he thinks he can just 'apply pressure' with the intent to 'bluff post flop on most board'.

You forgot the 1st line
I am folding this hand most of the time
But thanks for the critique
Hmm.. you can 3bet to punish loose opens, call to keep your stack depth, or fold if you want to be extra cautious. All lines are fine here.
