Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan

I'm a bit relieved that prs-season best ball drafting is done. I have done the mid season drafting before in my first year of playing, but I'll 100% refrain this year. I just need to focus on real life going forward.

As far as monitoring the results from all the best ball, I'm glad to be 17% on Javonte. Unfortunately I'm 24% on Pickens. I couldn't get much of Lamb so I'm 3% there. 18% on Hurts as he's my most owned QB along with Love and Daniels.

I also wish I could have faded AJ Brown but I'm 8% there. So much chat about PHI passing more this year and AJ Brown getting back to previous year form. He is a talented guy, but Eagles are a running team.

There's certainly a chance this is spot on, but it's also Week 1 and they're playing a team with one of the worst run defenses in the league.

Just remember, 8% of AJB means 92% of not AJB.

Who would you trade CMC for right now?

AJB

Good point Tarheels2222. I'd prefer to be lower, but at the same time it's still below the average of 10% in ten man best ball contests that I play.

Just curious, but are you doing any mid-season best ball this year or do you only do the pre-season stuff?

I'm managing 5 redraft teams so that will be enough activity for me, along with following up with my approx 240 best ball drafts.

15% AJB for me, hoping today was just a bad game in a long season

Traded Chase Brown for a 1st and 2nd in dynasty

10x10 ppr, sf .5tep

I’m competing but had no future picks till 28 and Leones Brown FUD scared me

Still have Henry, Pollard, Warren and a bunch of upside rookies and then I have Allen/Lamar at qb + really good young WRs and AJB +v good TEs

Did I sell too light? Should I have kept and gone all in on winning this year instead of trying to widen the window?

I would of held. He's due a ton of volume, only Perine and a 6th round rookie behind him, and having him in the team to push for the title is worth more than a random 1st next year imo.

I would say relying to trade Pollard or Warren for less or in some kind of package was the better move

That's a tough one.

On the one hand, he's a great player to have this season if you're competing and could be what pushed you over the edge. Like JEC said, a title is worth more than random draft picks.

On the other hand, cashing out a player like Brown for a 1st and 2nd is generally a plus ev bet in the long-run. You completely derisked into assets that will gain value.

He's certainly set up nicely this season. I bought Brown at the trade deadline in a league last year for a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. It's 12 man, start 9, SF, nonTEP.

Got some catching up to do

Between Saquon and Hurts running they didn't need to throw. Also, when Shipley gets back he is gonna be a force. AJB was nursing a hammy during the offseason so I didn't expect a big game from him. D Smith didn't do much better though. They are just not gonna be throwing a lot again this year.

I still think the chances they throw more than last year are pretty high. They play a lot of good teams and offenses.

The Cowboys defensive game plan also played a big part. Other teams will play a lot more man.

There’s also this.

But there’s also this.

Yes they will be throwing the ball more this year but they still will not be throwing a lot. They had an easy schedule last year and blew everybody out which explains the lack of passing. They have two unstoppable running forces in Saquon and Hurts and they will continue to lean on them. There is a reason AJ and Devonta weren't popular Best Ball picks. People have realized they are never gonna be used like other elite WR's. They will be in more shoot outs for sure this year but they are just not gonna be a heavy passing team. AJ and Devonta will be fine at the end of the day but will leave you wanting more.

Best ball should be where you want them and not in managed. Both have great spike week upside.

I just logged into DK to check how my 2 best ball league are going and only one is showing up under my contests "best ball".

I got a refund for my $3 one. Why would that happen?

Collusion prolly .

Can we just sim to week 17 so I can avoid the sweat roller coaster?

Yeah, I would think the whole idea of best ball is not sweating one crappy week from a "star" player since the depth is supposed to cover that and hoping that you get a breakout/breakthrough week from somewhere on the roster.

I deftly avoided Philly recievers in redraft leagues. Mostly because they either weren't available at those spots in the draft or I wanted somebody else.

For sure, and it’s still not ideal for a 2nd or even 5th round pick to be inconsistent. But AJB could be a top 12-15 WR even if he has some down weeks, since his spikes are so good. Way more annoying in H2H managed.

Also a reason I don’t have many best ball teams with both AJB/DeVonta or even paired with Saquon.

This situation is so frustrating. Thankfully I only have him in one league out of 6 but it's one of the more important ones. And it's almost like nothing that is said about CMC can be trusted at this point. I believe last year they literally said the same thing - he had a calf strain. Except they basically lied and it was bilateral achilles tendinitis and he had to go to another country to get treatment

It’s tilting. I don’t have any in my managed leagues. But I have him on a lot of best ball teams haha.

Shanny is a lying sack of ****, so definitely can’t trust him.

Its a funny world we live in. 30 years ago none of this would have been a thing. "oh the calf thing again huh? Oh well. Pass me a beer."

F that. I liked my team (after this thread pumped me up).

Thoughts on Hampton bust potential after this game? Dynasty not concerned at all but redraft I think it should be a worry
