English Football Season 2025-2026. Here we go again.
Welcome 2+2 to the English football season of 2025-2026.
This year I am going to make the thread officially for all of E
What is the practical method of following this up?
Not even trolling genuinely asking.
If Im BinBag you cannot force me to look for another job until the money runs dry. I'll just say the contract wasn't meeting my expectations (which is not working until the money runs dry (((but this is in very fine print))).

No idea but it gives the authority holding the cash a bunch of leverage.
I am utterly devastated by this news.
Also the opposite of devastation. Low key happy for Antony. The guy so much flack online and everywhere really - shows how a good environment can really suit a player and what a reception he has gotten in Seville.
ENIC to sell up to Staverly and Qatari billions

Not even convinced what Joe is saying is legit. Hard to imagine any of these contract details being public, I sure couldn't find anything for points 1 and 2. Point 4 I think makes sense.
Seems like the scene in Trainspotting where Spud has to pretend he's looking for a job to get his dole money.
And gg Levy, the goat of trying to go for the champions league place without winning anything where they would have to pay out a bonus to the players/manager.
I think Wenger is that goat.

There was a big thing on press / podcasts about Potter taking West Ham job and losing his Chelsea pension. Maybe it comes from there.

Kieran Maguire on the price of football goes over the sorts of things that are in contracts quite regularly. There are tons of podcasts/TV shows that look at footballers/managers contracts.

Fair enough. Not a consumer of football podcasts but I'll take your word for it.
Dunno if we talk England here as well but holy **** is this sad. 1-0 up after 60 minutes vs a team of bakers, police and firemen.
Yet another laboured, pedestrian performance from the apparently undroppable Kane.
Meh don't think any striker would've had a good game. It's shocking how little England managed to do vs a team like that and I'd blame Tuchel 100% for once again forcing some of the worst football ever on the world. I think he's competing with Southgate for who the biggest football terrorist is.
It does make me laugh that so many England fans were cheering when Tuchel took over from Southgate. It's almost as if they'd never watched one of his teams before.
Always worth remembering that with manager sackings:- The payout only lasts as long as the manager is unemployed- The contract usually stipulates that the manager has to be (demonstrably) looking for work- In practice, when a new job comes along (often paid worse than the "payout" they received from the last club), the three parties will put their heads together and agree on so
Plus manager contracts usually have a limit on compensation, typically 12-months salary.
Call me crazy but I think Merino is quite decent at this football thing
‘VENKATESHAM GOAT’ just doesn’t have the same ring to it..
I just keep thinking of Venkat, the old cricket umpire
