bluff catcher on the river, population read or live read?
6am Saturday morning. I've been at the table 30 minutes and it's filled with unknown players. It does not seem like a tough table. Lots of multiway limped pots.
$5/$5 NL
Main villain is 40's Asian male, I don't have a read on him.
H opens $15 utg+1 with AcJc
HJ calls
LJ calls
BB calls
flop: Ad Th 9c
x.
H $20
LJ calls
($100) turn: 8d
H $60
V says, "$60, hmm...$60?", and calls
($220) river: 4d
H checks.
V goes all-in $278 (H covers)
H?

What's the live read? Just the musing OTT? As for the population read, got anything more than age and very vague ethnicity? How is he dressed? How does he handle his chips?
Generally, this is a fold for me. I'd need a pretty strong read that V is bluffy, and neither of these things look like it. I'm more concerned that he was considering a raise OTT than I am thinking he's trying to bluff having hit a BDFD. And I generally find this population read to be more chasy than bluffy. If he's bluffing a straight and flush board, good on him.
My guess is everyone at this table has been here since nighttime. I think I am the only morning arrival. I think I have played with him before, but am not sure. He is a rec player. Seems very comfortable with the chips and poker, he's experienced. Dressed in casual clothes, t-shirt, hoodie sweatshirt. Among the table of limpers and weaker recs, he does seem like one of the potentially trickier players.

Population and live read both indicate this is a fold 😉 The "puzzled" call is almost always the nuts or close to it.
