Tottenham set to complete €60m signing of RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons
The clubs have agreed a deal worth €60million (£51.8m; $70m) for the 22-year-old Netherlands international attacker.
Personal terms are also in place and Simons completed a medical on Thursday ahead of finalising the proposed transfer to the north London club, which is now only subject to Simons closing off the last details of his exit with Leipzig

Very talented player who needs a lot of freedom but I'd be pretty excited to have him tbh. Did hear he's a bit of a diva though.

But I assume kind of like Potter if he takes another job than the old club doesn’t have to make payments anymore or am I completely mistaken and the entirety of the contract usually just has to be paid out to managers no matter what?

MGW was too expensive and Eze is at peak and his value will start to drop in a couple of years. Even if Simons only stays a couple of years he will have high resale value at age 24/25. “Premier League proven” is overrated nonsense. He has played elite international football and in the Bundesliga. He’s legit.
The only reason he was never talked about for us is because he was assumed to be unattainable.
Disagree - proven premier league means a lot - there have been numerous expensive flops who have gone back to other leagues and dominated.
I am not saying the premier league is "better" the style is just different.

Rent free indeed - Eze cost no more than during early enquiries before Spurs made their failed bid.
Hopefully Simons will be the new Lo Celso, built up into something he can never be by a desperate fan base forever in the shadow of North London's biggest club.

Eze > MGW > Simons even though I'll admit Simons is very talented.
As for the bolded, behave yourself. Everyone and their dogs know premier league proven is a thing. Right now a decent chunk of Liverpool fans are sweating their tits off hoping Wirtz won't flop.
It’s a thing but it’s way overblown. And it makes more sense for players coming from lower leagues like Eredivisie than for BuLi or La Liga.
