In the USA , welfare is small, and immigrants are better selected (or were until recently) . That's why it's clear immigration overall was very beneficial to the USA (doesn't mean that taking in a random million third worlders more is going to be good though).

Almost everywhere else except small rich countries that filter a lot (like switzerland or singapore), immigration is a tumor. A cancer. An utter unmitigated disaster.
