Jungleman & Monarch - heads up for millions

I'm a bit surprised not to see a thread on this. Jungleman and Monarch played heads up for millions and we've seen some

So if the US government had not got involved, FTP would be able to indefinitely pay their sponsored players and expenses using player funds?

I can't imagine that position would be long-term sustainable!

This. Full Tilt actually is getting way less scrutiny and hate than they should because people like the guy you replied to believe everything was fine and dandy until the DOJ came along and ruined the party. The Full Tilt party was inevitably ending in tears, the DOJ just made it happen prematurely.

Monarch played solid, but Jungleman seemed to be on another planet that day.

I didnt catch it all but the hands I saw Monarch played like a total fish

lol, jungle was the one who played solid (Not the A8o hand imo)

How can Monarch afford this beatdown?

Monarch played like a passive fish. Face up sizings, donk leading when he had the nuts on the river just letting jungle fold his bluffs. 1 star poker.

I'm confused why Doug Polk has such a good reputation when he shilled crypto that died shortly thereafter.Meanwhile the full tilt guys get a lot of crap when if you actually understand business full tilt would of likely been fine if not for US govt who has ****ed many millions of people in various ways. Poker players really just dumb AF I guess

So if the US government had not go

Say the poker market starts to turn down as it did. Assuming they didn't sign some extremely stupid long term contracts they start scaling all that crap down as they pull in less money.

Pros get cut off completely or just 100% rakeback.

Not saying it was perfectly run but the biggest market pulling out is not exactly normal.

Like any business you scale down expenses if profits go down. Unless they signed some truly awful long term contracts they'd of been able to scale back expenses and survive barring the largest market in the world by far suddenly pulling out.

Monarch got clipped bad. Wp to Jungle.

Full Tilt was already in a 9-digit (that's hundred million for the mathematically challenged) hole when Black Friday happened. In fact, Black Friday was approached with such urgency because of that fact and the notion site operators had no will nor ability to change course.

Yeah no idea. You see these guys want to take pictures with vloggers and flock to their meet up games. Like most poker players they’ll do anything to get ahead

hes pushed alot of successful crypto too that's just the space. I don't think he was an owner of that crypto and he lost alot of money because he also invested in it. Its a lot different to promote something you believe in and invest in and get burned then promote something you don't believe in are getting paid by. If we ostracized everyone that bought shares and promoted a failed business in the stock market we wouldn't have capitalism

No you wouldn't have shills but suckering fools into losing money is not necessary for capitalism. It is for ponzi schemes.

some people think crypto is legit and have made a lot of money from it despite these ponzi schemes. including doug who used to run a crypto channel

Some people think the stock market and fractional banking is legit and have made a lot of money from it despite it being a massive ponzi scheme.

I doubt he invested any money in the one I'm referencing. At the time shitcoin alts were going crazy and they'd often give promoters 25k-100k in free coins to shill their coin. It was a total garbage product even by shitcoin standards and completely disappeared once the bear started. Meanwhile I still have coins that although they lost 99% of their value in the 2018 bear are still alive and kicking, because theyre real projects not pump and dump scams.

Big difference between promoting a pump and dump vs a real project, at least to me.

oh I know my good friend tricked a shitcoin into sending him5 0-100k pretending to be a popular youtuber. Then it popped off and 2 weeks later he had 3 million. Of course it was a ponzi sceme the first tell was they don't ask for references they just assumed random emails they get is from creators. Hes been living off that money ever since

I saw some of it later on. Ossi seems an ego driven dude with very deep pockets, who binked some highroller MTT top cashes and therefore probably thinks he's the shit. I've seen better heads up cash players at 20NL when tables are about to break, but this was for sure good content. Pretty sure the dude has never seen a sim result and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a lot of action from more actual sickos in the near future, which is something he seems to be looking for.

wasn't this all just a PR stunt?

Doug isn't stupid. And he's big into crypto. Some athlete saying hey this is great- yea who cares. They're probably dumb and don't know **** about crypto so you can just know they're whores.
If doug liked a coin and it tanked that would be one thing. But he was schilling something promising 10-15 percent returns guaranteed which he knows is impossible. I'd hold him to a way higher standard on a poker site too than I would some athlete.
