Jungleman & Monarch - heads up for millions
I'm a bit surprised not to see a thread on this. Jungleman and Monarch played heads up for millions and we've seen some
I believe Jungleman was giving Monarch 1.17-to-1 odds as a handicap. Obviously Jungleman still a huge favorite. The end of the last match was pretty brutal to watch. Monarch got destroyed.
Monarch dusted off another 600k in cash game today
I dont think Monarch's tweets are the most reliable source for info
According to pokernews (and the stream) he made $15m profit
I dont know how much or how little % he had of himself but hey even 10% is 1.5M
That match was like... hmm... to draw a comparison almost the same as former ufc fighter fighting vs a child who just started training Karate, not even funny but good for Jungle, good table selection indeed

His original tweet was saying he was going to bust Jungleman's roll but the 2nd tweet is basically saying he just funded Jungle's retirement account

yup, thats why I answered "So is Jungle semi busto or what" with "not anymore :p"
I guess Jungle perhaps maybe wasnt doing so well since he only has a very small % of himself vs such a fish.

Yes because people that are doing well would never ever sell action in a 6 million dollar headsup sitngo, jungle confirmed busto and broke before this.
wonder who the billionaire is and how much crypto he had stolen

Well i wouldnt think so, neither did I say this. Just made a "not anymore:p" tongue-in-cheek comment when some asked if he was semi busto
Of course he is selling action on those stakes, I am a bit surprised that people were sure its <10% though
im curious if monarch will actually pay. did he front 15 million? i doubt it
Was that stolen crypto lost in an unfortunate boating accident?
Ya I wasn't sure if this was a real casino setting. its really hard to get 15mil legally for a random poker game but hes a crypto scammer so its easier to get 15 mil through illegal crypto transfers. I recommend watching the Coffeezilla video on him. I knew he had the money its just rich people tend to not pay.
Monarch ain't too bright when all these dudes are selling massive action and Doug Polk certainly would too.
Not like they are gonna be sweating an all in because it's their entire networth on the line. Certainly not a guy like Doug Polk who seems reasonably risk adverse. Maybe he could try isilidur or aussie matt
I'm confused why Doug Polk has such a good reputation when he shilled crypto that died shortly thereafter.
Meanwhile the full tilt guys get a lot of crap when if you actually understand business full tilt would of likely been fine if not for US govt who has fucked many millions of people in various ways.
Poker players really just dumb AF I guess

Even if he only had 7% at those stakes that'd probably be the responsible thing to do even with a 20 mil networth

The world has changed significantly the last 15 years. Lies, scams, grifts, bullshit, etc is the culture at the top so society has adopted that culture.
There are literally people recording million dollar scams in real time and posting them to instagram like some sort of financial influencer. There is no oversight and nobody seems to care

So if the US government had not got involved, FTP would be able to indefinitely pay their sponsored players and expenses using player funds?
I can't imagine that position would be long-term sustainable!

Nail on the head. Nobody cares these days how you have made your wealth, as long as you have it you are cool.
They say Roman empire was peak degen just before its fall...
