Jungleman & Monarch - heads up for millions
I'm a bit surprised not to see a thread on this. Jungleman and Monarch played heads up for millions and we've seen some of the biggest televised / streamed pots.
At the end of it, Jungleman walked away with $13M profit.
Yeah I only found out after as well. Considering the size of the game, this was not very well advertised / marketed.
It was €13M, so $15.1M profit.
Watched it live, pretty sick. Ez money for jungle playing best possible opponent HU (Passive fish).
How can Monarch afford this beatdown?
Great table selection from Jungleman
I dont know this monarch guy but heard he is a casino owner or similar... Is he well known in poker?
He must have expected to lose against Cates.. if this means little to him he must have some very deep pockets
The guy has made a fortune taking kid's money on CSGO gambling, online gambling sites and I saw that he has been involved in the crypto scene too.
It also seemed like he had some backers which he was communicating with at the time. Or maybe he was arranging extra action on the side.
Never go into the jungle alone.
Kayhan Mokri beat him for 2 million beforehand too , I think the day before, but declined a rematch saying he had an early flight so Monarch looked for another opponent
The lack of promotion/exposure was because it was pretty spur of the moment and not pre planned
Super embarrassing for Monarch. Much of the Kick chat liked Monarch, but he comes across as a huge chump to me. GJ Dan that's a once in a lifetime skinning.
Saw a ton of the clips on twitter of the biggest/sickest hands and overall just felt pretty dull. Jungle calling $175k with queen high was pretty sick but considering he was scrolling on his phone while doing so kind of sucked the air out of the moment.

Probably asking for permission to make the call 😆
Crazy it didn’t get more hype, $13M profit is insane. Jungleman basically got paid to sit there and print.
How much did Jungle have in himself?
Or did he win so much in Macau that he can actually take these opportunities on his own now?
I think it was mostly an advertisement for Ketolas new crypto-casino where Antonius also has some part
Anybody else feels like Jungle was cheating? He was constantly on his phone while Monarch wasn’t. They even had a discussion about it. Sure, you can take the standpoint, as jungle did, that they did not ex ante agreed on this but I would presume I am not playing against RTA when I sign up for a live poker match. It feels like such a big edge he got from that even if it was, as he claims, „just“ to see the hands…

Jungle was openly organizing staking between rounds to get confirmation that he was able to play the amount Ossi wanted. Clearly he was being staked quite a big amount. At one point he said something like "I've got 3.7" referencing the amount he had confirmation that he was able to put up, when Ossi wanted to play for 5m. So that means he was not willing to put up that 1.3 that was left of his own money.
That would have been just 25% that he was not going to play out of his own money and this was after he was already up 2 million from earlier matches. So yea... he probably had a very small percentage. I think even 10% sounds like too much.

The idea that Jungle would be cheating against a passive fish in a game where he has been an absoute top crusher for decades is asinine. It wasnt a good look though, but thats more so because Jungle looked disinterested and anti social. Autism.
Here is my analysis of the largest pot ever played. A8o vs AJs
So is Jungle semi busto or what
not anymore :p
