I think some of us intentionally don't subscribe (even if we check in and watch some of his videos).

It sounded like ELD actually paid for his own good. He said it was $68 each.

Impressive if that is the case, first time in 5 years.

I would have to disagree with for a few different reasons. All of these guys are "special" in their own way!

HOWEVER, you've got to give it to Trooper, he is with a woman. Trooper has also apparently been with OTHER women in the past 10 years. I don't think that is the case for the other two. I would also be willing to wager that the other two WON'T have a relationship in the upcoming 10 years either.

Rice is also in a "very special" category. He supposedly went to an Ivy League skool AND a law skool! Think of how much time & energy he spent doing such. Think of how much capital society spent to "educate" him. So with all the education and knowledge Rice got, he is using to be a nomad. Living in flop houses...eating pocket bread...and only dealing part time after MANY years of playing the lowest limit, lowest volatility poker.

Say what you will about Pman, he is living in an apartment by himself. He probably has a bed, toilet, closet that he can put his clothes in, a refrigerator and freezer. Rice is like street person, hauling all his worldly belongings on a rolling cart with strap ties...

Rice's ambition is to be miserly to save up his $$$ so that he can "retire" and continue to live like a miser.

So they all have massive, Massive, MASSIVE problems, i would have to say that the Trooper is doing the best, it is not even close!

I am surprised Rice has a car. That is a lot of money for gas each year when he could easily put all of his belongings in a bindle and ride the rails for free.

his parents also pay for his car insurance (which is likely 3x of what it would've been with Nevada plates) and annual maintenance

Hard to believe that he paid $68 cash for a meal. That's not in his DNA. Maybe he would pay $68 worth of comps for a meal but definitely not hard cash. He'd lose too much sleep stressing over how much it could of been turned into over the rest of his lifetime if invested using his proprietary dividend strategy.

You guys both have a lot more confidence than I that he can remain gainfully employed for that long. I suspect he'll get in an argument with the wrong player, or be observed by the wrong supervisor, and he'll be gone. He won't be able to work at CET, and CET would make for a terrible reference, and he won't be able to find steady work. He obviously can't go back to playing for a living.

I don't know if that would likely happen, but the odds are against him that he can make things last for 7 more years, imo.

If he goes to another dealing job he won't need any references tbh. No one in casinos cares to check that stuff. I could cuss out a craps player today and probably get away with it, and if I didn't I could get another dealing job with in a few weeks. Diesel is crazy AF but you can get away with a lot if you can deal reasonably well

I'm sure Trooper has explained to her what a waste it is to buy a box spring.

He badly needs to re-examine what "sober" means. Maybe when he's not stoned.

Nah, it's not that bad. When I didn't much GAF about my car (Corolla, etc) I always went to these high-volume oil change places. It amounted to 15-20 bucks for the labor, prob about twice that now given the minwage increase. Well worth it, imo.

Ridiculous that he pays casino prices for underwear when every Walmart, Target, etc has them for a fraction of the cost. Unless you pooped yourself in the casino, it's a waste.

I dont think he was buying,he was just "reporting" as he usually does followed up with the standard lol "hope you enjoyed the x". (The photos,the totally meaningless info he gives and everything else).

When you lay it out like that, I think Diesel is most like an Adult Human. He gets the concept of time, and knows things won't always be just as they are now. He has an ambition to retire, and a plan, flawed as it may be, to get there. He might well have enough socked away to retire now, or soon, except that he insists on doing it the old stupid way - collect 6% dividends and nothing else. But, just like the whole wack pack wrt poker, he refuses to learn from people that are a lot more knowledgeable. Considering that Diesel could live in a liberal state like CA or NY, he could qualify for a ton of govt handouts. He could live quite well (in Diesel terms) on 20k a year.

Ask him if that's his all-time high. I'm sure he has records on that.

ELD never lived at Desert Manor, Trooper did. ELD's would be more like The Excalibur Extravaganza, in his hotel room, played on one of the beds he sleeps on when, as he put it, he's too tired to take a shower. So bring some hand sanitizer and wear a covid mask. The meet-up game professionally dealt by yours truly, ELD, so that he doesn't have to risk losing a single dollar by playing. Big tips are encouraged. Hourly high hands win a tasty sardine and sausage slurry made in the restroom by ELD.

Was a lengthy post of mine just deleted without any indication, acknowledgement, or explanation? If so, is that the policy under the new ownership of this site? To simply disappear posts with no explanation or acknowledgement at all?

I quoted yet another political statement from a specific poster on this site, which is supposed to be about poker. I asked the poster to stop injecting his political opinions into his posts. As a way of pointing out why this is exhausting and offensive to other posters, I demonstrated in great detail the hypocrisy of his political statement, and specifically indicated that he most likely would prefer not to be subjected to such ideas while here to discuss pokerÂ…just as I and others donÂ’t want to be subjected to his political opinions while here.

Now, my post appears to have vanished, as has another post that referenced that original post. But you know what hasnÂ’t vanished? The original post with its same offensive political commentary.

Perhaps there is some explanation here. Perhaps this is just a mistake or mixup. But barring that, please let me know if the policy going forward is that 1. Political commentary of one stripe will be tolerated, while that of another will not, and 2. That posts will be disappeared without any explanation or acknowledgment.

If that will be the policy then I will know that rather than remain here, I can simply join the large exodus of former posters who no longer visit this site and instead engage on Reddit and other social media.

FWIW i think the modding and modding policy on this forum always have been pretty bad.

Ive seen this kind of scenario many times through the years. (Original post stands,replies gets deleted instantly without any warnings or explenations++). Some posters can cross the line over and over again,while others gets posts instadeleted.

Ok that is helpful context, thank you. It’s the first time I have encountered it but it sounds like it’s always been this way. It’s an absurd way to moderate a discussion forum.

ELD today travels to Lucky Lady casino in Gardena which is acknowledged in a comment by Think Blue Poker as his casino employer.

Later ELD indicates he is going South towards Irvine in Orange County where the Texas de Brazil from the last episode is located.
