Back from a week of no medieval headkicking due to injury. :( Some good parties, but mostly it sucked when unable to fight.
My wifi has broken on my laptop, so I am sitting here plugged into the router, like some sort of prehistoric cavenerd.

Back to wifi'ing, with a ghetto fix. After lots of googling, driver updates, etc., finally fixed it by putting a piece of electrical tape over pin20 on the wifi card, which is the pin for turning off the wifi. Can't turn it off anymore, but who cares? I never turned it off before.

I have no idea you could look up how to fix a card/chip. But I would be very happy if I had a laptop that could still accept an ethernet or whatever cable. THat went away with the Toshiba Satellite that I had for 9 years.
Had family in town visiting this week. He had a new laptop and apparently they don't come with type A USB ports anymore. Bastards.
Didn't get in any poker at the casino this weekend, but did see a great show at "the Showroom at Talking Stick Resort" (it's the new sports book, with curtains across the front). Pretty good spot for an intimate show, really. Anywho, Steve Earle did a two+ hour set, mostly in autobiographical order, played four different stringed instruments including mando, bazooki (sp?), 12-string acoustic and a regular 6-string.
A great time was had by all.

He's had a hit single with Copperhead Road 30 (40?) years ago with his band. Guitartown was a big seller because it was reported that Springsteen (just after BITUSA) bought it at Tower Records in LA. He encored with Gallway Girl which if it isn't a cover seemed like everyone knew so I assume might have been a hit. Pretty good song, too.
Nothing pop about this. He's also pretty left, outspoken and strong labor/union backer. Probably doesn't get the support (marketing) he deserves from the record companies.

We check. CO bets $75. We raise to $175. CO calls.
River 3♥ (pot $575)
We jam for $325. CO folds.
I think 99% of players are better off folding this pre-flop, and about 90% of live players get this spot wrong and just call. I think call is the worst option.
I doubt we will ever play, but it would be nice to watch you play the bigger games.
Maybe you should check in with this thread and let us know when you get back to playing 5/10+?
I would love to get any glimpse of you playing the higher stakes...especially if you wouldn't mind sharing higher stakes HHs.
Copperhead Road is the only Steve Earle I have on the iPod. I should probably get around to doing a deep dive on him one day.
Had our first camping family reunion in a few years thanks to forest fires / etc., it was nice to get back to that. Counted 58 people and 13 dogs.
Camping Family Reunion Poker night was the usual gong show but a great time. Won by my cousin's kid who during a key hand early on leaned over to me and whispered "does a flush beat 3-of-a-kind?" before calling and busting her brother and my brother. Other cousin's kid, a teenager playing her first poker ever, got dealt AA on her very first poker hand ever, turned top set, and lost to a straight; she busted 8 hands / 1 hour later (lol @ hands per hour) with AA again, welcome to poker kid.
This camping family reunion has been going mostly annually (with some more recent Covid / forest fire breaks) since 1991. Pretty sure my Dad and his six siblings were all present at the first one. But with the passing of my favourite Aunt just weeks ago, only one of the seven remains, but my Uncle made it out as he always has. Now us kids are the old guard, yikes.
