Journey to Vegas PLO midstakes and finding a coach/ backer
Hello everyone. This is PLOTheoryGod.
My name is mostly sarcastic. But also a little aspirational.
I moved to Vegas for a new start in life (amazing food, amazing entertainment, 24/7 lifestyle... poker was just one factor).
I found an extremely cheap room to rent. I'm currently working a part-time job to pay my bills. This leaves an enormous amount of free time to study the Great Game.
I've averaging 7 bb/100 playing microstakes over a 25,000 hand sample. (I realize this is a tiny sample and nothing to brag about). However, I think it's cool, considering I'm paying 5% uncapped rake (averaging 26 bb/100). If I'm profitable after paying 26 bb/100 in rake, surely this means I'd have a fighting chance at online midstakes where I'll pay about 1/3 gross rake and also get RB?
In Vegas, most of the live games are 4 card PLO and DBBP. (I bought a DBBP course and will be studying it soon).
Online, there's a healthy mix between 4 card, 5 card, and 6 card action. I think there's value in learning to play all formats. Especially 6 card, which seems like the craziest action.
Finally, I want to learn HU theory in all formats.
Overall, I'm very happy where I am in life. I have incredibly low expenses, and virtually endless time to study poker. The only problem is, my net worth is in the 3 figures lol. In order to play midstakes, I'll have to work more hours to build a bankroll.
It would be really cool to find a coach/ backer in Vegas who can help me progress further. If anyone wants to discuss hands, feel free to send me a DM.

GL, wouldnt study HU for now, not really a lot of PLO 4/5/6 HU Games out there
Get the fundamentals for 6 handed Right and don’t play too many tables, exploit your opponents weaknesses and go!

True, there isn't much action for HU. However, it still happens sometimes in 6 max tables... and I'm often pretty lost.
Also, if you can get HU action, I think the winrates are probably the highest possible in poker.
Pretty interesting hand. Curious what others think.

On the turn, I considering raising. However, it's likely we have the same straight, possible he has the nut straight, and possible I'm getting freerolled as I unblock spades.
However, I have 4 FH outs which negates my concern over being freerolled.
On the river, it sucks folding to a relatively small bet. But I essentially beat nothing?
Edit: Do I have leads on this turn, considering I should have more straights and BTN has more overpairs?
Best just to pick one game and zone in on it. Hu or 6max also. Pick one. There is enough hu action online. I sometimes sit and the donks sit way faster in that game than nlhe.
Also wtf at uncapped rake in omaha. Where is this?

If my end goal is to learn 6 card, is there any merit to learn 5 card first as a "stepping stone"? Or just focus on 6c?
On ignition, rake is 5% capped at $2. At PLO10, it requires a 400bb pot to hit the cap... so it's essentially uncapped.
If the goal is that you wanna become some kinda professional and make money and be the best in 6card, then you should ignore all other formats and focus on PLO6 HU or PLO6 6max, pick one, whatever is more fun/interesting.
This will give you way faster results rather than learning 3 different games at once.
If you just playing for fun and dont care too much then just do w/e you want.
I'm not really sure about this hand.

With my NFD + wrap, I have 44% equity vs sets, 51% equity vs 2p, and 57% equity vs board pairs, so I'm not really afraid of anything.
In game, I decided to b33 to give a good price to dominated draws, as well as put pressure on 1 pair hands... but since my reason for betting is fold equity, I think I should have just potted, or checked and realized equity, because it's so hard to have fold equity vs 3 villains.
Thoughts on potting vs checking flop in this spot?
Any merit to just calling flop raise and folding board pairing turns?
Checking to realize your equity when you have heaps of it and can call a cr is wrong. We check back dry 543 here but with NFD too we want to start betting. We aren’t going to have tons of hands on this board that can bet and continue when raised so we don’t want to start taking the ones we do have and checking them back
