President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Parker and Stone never gave a ****. But it is definitely shocking paramount let that see the light of day unless either they’re badly desperate to weather the storm of the Colbert backlash or if Colbert truly had nothing to do with Trump and they’re just idiots with no sense of timing
Also count myself as someone who hasn’t watched in forever but tuned in after I heard about that
Delegating responsibilities is power. There really is no argument against that. It would actually take someone who is completely ignorant of corporate structure to think the delegation was a reduction of power and not an execution of power.
Kind of makes this discussion useless when you display all the worldly knowledge of a lifetime welfare recipient
You can’t seriously be suggesting a lot of colleges aren’t discriminating on the basis of race in their admissions process.
Yeah, investigations found that white people were getting preferential treatment despite affirmative action so they axed affirmative action so now there isn't any protection against racial discrimination outside of targeted litigation from a corrupt administration
Harvard could accept 100% asian students and just say it was merit based. GG

I’m “seriously suggesting” that when the most powerful country on Earth decides to cut 10 billion to colleges and medical research, they should have some evidence of the racial discrimination.
You’re literally acting like those annoying leftist “google is free” types that never want to justify their opinions.

I definitely was referring to the bolded. Parker and Stone obviously are in favor of lampooning everything in as profane a manner as they can. I'm guessing that Parker and Stone used this opprtunity to go full ham because they believed Paramount would be reluctant to absord the criticism of killing a South Park episode for political reasons in the immediate wake of cancelling Colbert.

To ask a question that should make the light bulb go off:
Do you think mob bosses being insulated from the criminal activities of their organization through layers of delegation means they are more or less powerful?
I mean if Parker and Stone specifically times this to **** Paramount than bravo, that’s just a masterclass of **** around and find out
So can we talk about how this guy is the stupidest ****ing idiot to ever hold public office?
I mean baham cant even acknowledge using emergency measures under false pretence , to bypass congress and imposes things that isn’t under his responsibilities (like tarriffs) is not authoritative !
I mean which presidents used emergency measures (even using 100+ years old dubious laws ) lately beside trump ?
Not many…
What else is there to discuss ?
It’s like trying to make believe to an apostle god doesn’t exist shrug .
Dayum
In before Trump orders ICE to raid Casa Bonita.
Without DEI they certainly are. That's what DEI was for: to help reduce discrimination based on things like race and gender.
and there it is, the soft bigotry of low expectations
Spoiler
and fwiw - it's a socioeconomic problem not a race problem - whites and asians who grow up raised by grandparents or single moms in public housing attend college at the same rates as blacks of similar circumstances
nobody born in the projects of compton went to harvard (or even college for that matter) because of dei - it's the black son of a 300k a year earning dentist living in an affluent suburb of cincinatti who instead goes to harvard instead of boston college
the racial income divide is just as great as it was before affirmative action and dei - it's had decades to bear fruit and has done nothing
literally nothing has changed - we're not fixing the problem, just giving special status to the highest performing minorities who were already going to succeed anyway and high fiving each other claiming that we've fixed slavery

potatoe potahtoe
you're nitpicking details - they are essentially slightly different approaches to tackle the same issue
Yes but DEI specifically calls for selecting the best candidate for the job regardless of race, affirmative action specifically calls for selecting the person of a discriminated race if it’s at all close.
So prescriptively they are quite different from one another.
It would be incredible if you considered, just for a moment, that maybe you don't know everything

dei on paper vs dei in practice are two very different things
and a lot of mental gymnastics are done in order shift goal posts to avoid saying "standards were lowered"

What do you know about DEI man? Have you ever worked at a company with a couple hundred thousand employees and a robust DEI process?
No? Interesting

horrible read
if you scraped the politics forum for admissions of being ignorant on certain subjects or admitting they were wrong i'd be among the top of the list
in fact, did i not just tell someone i knew nothing of mince pies?
Yeah you are the most humble and relenting poster of all
