No because they lived under actual racism (the "racial laws" of fascism), which is when you use power to explicitly and trasparently damage races you deem "inferior".

If there is no explicit willingness to damage other ethnic groups, it isn't racism.

Because the simple idea that you feel your own group is better is historically universal (and morally healthy for any group). It becomes a bad idea if it exceeds into "and so i want those other groups to be massacred, killed, stolen from" and so on.

Even merely being disgusted by a specific ethnic group isn't racism per se unless you are willing to use violence if you can to stop that group doing what disgusts you.

Nevermind that any cultural criticsm isn't racism anyway, unlike what the left claims these days. Disliking other people food, religion, clothes and everything else is not racism. It can be bad again if it makes you use violence against what you dislike, but it isn't racism and got conflated with racism on purpose by decades of incessant mind tricks of the left in order to make it "socially unacceptable" to rank cultures and criticize aspects of them.

I think we already had this conversation and i am not a technology hater at all, i just don't subscribe to the idea that we got technological progress because of social progressivism.

Most of what was worse before for normal people was material scarcity caused by worse technology. The moral arc of history managed to claim victory for what technology improved while they were materially worsening the situation (like when they started refusing to executve all violent criminals).
