Dawid Kwiatkowski – Pali się niebo

I enjoy being on holiday by the sea and hearing random pieces of music coming out of bars and amusement arcades. On a sunny Thursday afternoon waiting for a train at Whitley Bay metro station, this meshed perfectly with its surroundings.

RIP Connie Francis. She died yesterday and today she showed up on my ipod which is maybe a freak occurance? I listen to my music on playlists in alphabetical order and then start all over again. It takes about a year to get through the entire library. Anyway my Connie Francis collection is under "random" which is in the R's. Seems like kismet that she showed up today.

hearing Connie Francis and Patsy Cline scold men who treat women wrong will always remind me of mom with a jar of wine and control of the record player

a semi-anual Bert Jansch reminder to myself

I can't believe how minimalist this song is. There's literally nothing to it. It sounds like Gunna ordering Chipotle while beating on a tin can. I can't stop listening to it.

On a per capita basis Scotland may have the best music of any country

Some complain I only like "dirgy" songs. Not true. Well, maybe it is.

I don't think I've thought about Lyle Lovett for about 30 years - and trying now, all I remember him for is "She's no lady" and for marrying Julia Roberts.

I really liked this one though - thanks 😀

Dirgy music? Do we need to have a dirgy music draft?

John, the Not Fade Away cover you posted there reminds me a lot of this.

I have no idea how this is possible but the video I originally posted, Street Music by Born Again Floozies, got replaced by Kokoroko which is also great. There are definitely some tweaks remaining for this update.

Ok, something is really crazy because this was a Lyle Lovett song ten minutes ago.

Well anyway here’s an absolutely must read interview with Leo Sayer from 2016.
