I'm not much of a gambler (casino games), but I decided to spin up some roulette for fun.

I didn't use my poker bankroll for it. I played with my money on another site.

Long story short I made around $4500 profit in two days. I hit my target balance and I'm cashing it all out.

Plan is to stay away from those games for good since I got so insanely lucky 😃

Edit: I miscalculated. I actually made closer to $5600 profit.

dont let the ebbs and flows of the bankroll sway you, 500$ is gonna be hand to hand variance one day

it doesent matter if u can hit an X amount of dollars in some time, just focus on the learning milestones

This is really good advice from @JTF2. And after reading your blog, @Supposably, I also want to share my take on this. This is just my opinion, and I could easily be wrong.

I would spend more time studying—maybe 75% studying and 25% playing, or perhaps study for a whole day and play the next day. Studying is hard, and your brain will resist at first; you might not be able to study for a whole day because your brain will get drained quite fast. But the brain is like a muscle: if you do it regularly, it will adapt, and you'll be able to study for longer periods and achieve deeper concentration, which, in turn, will allow you to grasp more complicated aspects of poker.

Winning or losing during a session doesn't really matter. In fact, even winning or losing during a month doesn't matter all that much, because winning players might have losing months at times. At lower stakes, if you study enough, you will notice very quickly that you make better decisions than your opponents, and you will simply enjoy playing, knowing that you make more +EV decisions than they do. And if you notice that you are playing better than your opponents, then you won’t care if you lose a session, because you’ll be very confident that you're crushing everyone.

It gets hard when you reach high stakes, because then you are playing against the best of the best and it's hard to stay super confident about beating everyone, especially during losing months, but that's not your problem right now. With your current approach, though, you will have a hard time reaching high stakes, because the emotions you experience during every losing session or hand will take a toll on your mind.

So I would completely change the approach. Tilting isn’t something pro players experience on a daily basis. We are all human, so it’s still possible to get tilted, but for me, it used to happen only once every six months or so. Even when I did get tilted, it never affected my decisions (I just experienced anger and lot's of adrenaline), because poker decisions can’t be based on emotions. If they are, then you’re just gambling—and gambling would tilt me even more....
