This chidwick table is like watching paint dry

Who the heck makes make the everyday decisions at Poker Go?

Today they have a 1 hour preview on YouTube then the coverage goes behind the payroll for the rest of the Main Event. Sucks for me, but they are a business and need to make money, so no hard feelings.

But who is he genius who decided the one hour preview would be right before the money bubble and it's non-stop stalling. They could not have picked a worse 1 hour period to run a free preview. Unless of course someone is trying to sabotage the company or they don't want anyone to signup and pay for the rest of the Main Event for some reason.

Unrelated ... Regarding Kabrel vs Kassouf..

I'm pro-villian for the most part and enjoy somebody annoying or whatever for the entertainment value. I could totally understand why players would hate them at their table. That being said Kassouf is just an annoying douche. Kabrel is entertaining to me. Kabrel adds to the viewing experience for me, Kassouf just gets so annoying I have to turn it off. Like last night, after 30 mins of Kassouf , I put something else on then checked back later after he was off. Just my personal opinions. Sorry about spelling.

I was already to pull out my cc card and subscribe,, I love watching 7 card stud, so thought they would show the 1500 final table, nope, ok pulled out my cc card ready to watch the 7 card stud 10k final table,,nope, i put my cc card back in my walet and unintstalled.

Commentary nut low right now, Nick & Ali can’t get here soon enough.

Can you subscribe for just one month without having to sign up for a monthly subscription?

Can you subscribe for just one month without having to sign up for a monthly subscription

yes, monthly, quarterly or annually, but it costs 20 bucks a month if you sign up for one month and $80 if you sign up for the year ($100 -$20 discount with code WSOP25x)

I lost audio on PokerGo YouTube, anyone else in same boat?

I have audio, but I watch on PokerGo.

Is Chad Power wearing eye liner or something? He looks like a pirate wearing makeup today for some reason

Fixed. Lots of complaints on X lol. I subbed thru YouTube since cancellation is much easier and more sure.

Pokergo is completely incompetent or intentionally trying to lose money. They should have streams running on at least YouTube, Twitch, and Kick 24/7. It's an opportunity to advertise for basically free.

There should also be live coverage of WSOP events streamed live on various platforms for free with banner ads and commentary pushing paid subscriptions. This would more than pay for itself.

There are obviously many other more creative opportunities like the ESPN produced WSOP products that could also be good investments to drive subs.

It seems like the company doesn't understand you have to spend money to make money. Can't grow the product through a bunch of aging boomers.

They already run lots of free stuff on YouTube but once it gets limited to subscribers people get dramatic “it’s behind a paywall!”. There’s also a PokerGO channel on Tubi and probably elsewhere. I don’t think it’s a bunch of old men sitting around watching. PokerGO either btw.

It’s obviously not perfect but they do a lot of things right. Around 90 hours of coverage of Main seamlessly bouncing around three tables. 30 hours of 50K PPC. Hiring great announcers such as Schulman and Bleznick.

And all of this when poker stopped being cool and interesting to most of population 15 years ago. There’s a reason why espn didn’t want it anymore.

ESPN made their own bed by diluting the product. The Main Event is fun for casuals in 45 minute highlight shows. It's not fun in 100 hours of live streaming.

You can watch the 2003 Main in about 6 hours total. That is half of day 1A of any recent year.

When you take 5-10 hours of highlights and spread them across 100 hours of streams, the entertainment value per minute drops dramatically. The shows become boring for casuals viewers. Casual viewers tune out. Ratings drop. ESPN decides there's no value in the license. Enter the current situation.

ESPN mismanaged the asset. It has little to do with poker not being cool and everything to do with the reality that there are going to be massively different audiences for 8 hours of highlights vs. 100 hours of live streams. I expect GG to be smarter about maximizing the value of the media rights.

Hopefully that means that, in addition to streaming for the serious audience, they produce much better highlight shows for the casual viewers. The current CBS highlight shows are a pale shadow of what we had in 2003-2009. You can just watch the first 10 minutes from those years and compare it to 2018 or 2019. It's a dramatic difference in presentation quality, and not for the better.

It makes sense to have a paid subscription hidden behind a pay wall. This is good. What's not good is charging more than Netflix for literally just poker. There's no market outside of hardcore MTT fans. In order to expand the market beyond hardcore MTT fans, Pokergo should stream 24/7 free with ads. They're continuing to harm their own products and poker as a whole with greedy, short sighted, junk products.

We have differing opinions. I’d pay more than they are currently charging and I don’t want ads.

A lot of it is already free on YouTube and Tubi, but the nature of the product is only hardcore fans enjoy it. And I highly doubt this is some goldmine

Also I pay $10 for PokerGO and $17 for Netflix

Pokergo is $19.99 / month, Netflix 17.99. Any fee is too much friction for something to go viral.

Since they're already broadcasting the event on their platform, it would require minimal effort to also stream for free (with ads for example). If the event is live streamed free with ads, and something exceptional happens the potential for virality exists.

The paywall is good for die hards, but limits the market to only hardcore fans and bounds growth potential.

Calling Scotch a liar? he pays $10

Seriously though, poker jumped the shark a decade ago. But there’s free poker stuff everywhere, of people care to look.

And PokerGO can only be helping poker. After all it brought back High Stakes Poker, probably most popular show of all time

Is pokergo down wtf?

Hopefully this gets fixed soon. What a disaster.

There’s a free one hour preview on YouTube

Absolute joke. I deleted my sub a while ago for this reason and now I pay for it again and this crap monopoly.
Can't wait to Karen about it tomrrow

Anyone else unable to login to PokerGo?

'500 : Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '_data')'

Same error on ipad app and browser

Edit: I'm not alone. They'd better keep the YouTube free show going
