Stall in WSOP ME #s due to PokerGo over ESPN
I wonder if the stalling out of the increased participants in the Main Event has to due with the loss of air-time and public interest from moving the production onto a paid subscription platform like Poker Go? As a casual viewer, I'm not about to subscribe to another $20 platform that im going to forget about for the next several months, and never cancel. I think more casual fans would continue to gain interest if the production was still aired on one of the ESPN type channels! PokerGo does a phenomenal job, but is truly for the die-hard fans!

I don't know how much that really has to do with it.
Times are tough and it's not a long list of people that have 10K to drop in a whim. That's still a lot of money for most people. We get a little desensitized as poker players.
If that were the case, the numbers would've stalled a few years ago.
Since PG began streaming in 2017 and last time ESPN was involved was 2030 ME and since last 2years were the all time records, that doesn’t seem to align.
Presumably, there isn't the general interest these days to put it on regular TV
No interest from the ad dollars.
