I don't think either are deeply in love but their relationship makes sense on many levels and seems to work for both of them.

Not many guys would be okay with Amanda's lifestyle and not many women would be okay with Daniel's lifestyle. They both seem to like their alone time but are also able to come together and watch trashy reality TV.

It's actually a great match & a realistic model for what a sustainable marriage looks like.

I won't go over recent accomplishments again, but in addition to being on TV final tables so much back when, he has 7 bracelets. Then Doyle had him write a chapter in "Super System 2", implying Doyle thought he was a top player. He was doing decently in the $2K/4K mixed or whatever at Bellagio. So how do you get he was sunrunning or just lucky. You can't just get lucky over and over again. I agree he isn't a superstar anymore, but still an excellent player.

His results would look better if he didn't keep playing $50K+ NLHE tournaments with the GTO bots. Yeah, he took 2nd in the One Drop in 2014, but those high rollers are real different now.

As far as Amanda, not sure about that marriage. Poker is still so macho that there are some things you can't admit to.

I’ve mentioned this before but you cannot waive the One Drop result away and hold high rollers against him. Main reason being is fact that that specific result gave him the desire and bankroll ability to play them.

He really is one of the best in the world. And he's Canadian. That's good for us up north. I was hearing on X how his political views should have GG part ways with him, but that would be dumb for GG and for poker. Daniel has stood the test of time as a person.

DN is top 10 mixed game tournament player. Hellmuth is not and Polk afaik has never entered anything other than nlhe

DN does play tournaments against nlhe high rollers and Polk challenge as an underdog to challenge himself and uses it as opportunity to get better. That’s opposite of bum hunting. In a normal world with normal people that’s something to be commended.

DN doesn't seem to play much volume and doesn't stick to tournaments he can clearly beat. Presumably he can do this due to his sponsorship and other income from videos, etc. It doesn't make sense to me.

However, people twisting it into he has is a losing player with some scam of the endorsement contract is just ridiculous.

Don't understand why he would play Polk in HU NLHE when he could have asked to play part NLHE and part mixed games. Only a few people copying software play can beat Polk in HU NLHE. That DN did as well as he did against Polk is more evidence that he is a very strong player.

This stuff is really childish. I think some people see DNs vlogs and how he is hyped by GG, and weren't around when he was known for crushing.

I think at one time in the poker boom he had a challenge to play anyone HU live any game. I think it was partly to promote some casino. You have be really good and not just a sunrunner to do that. I am sure he couldn't do that now. That was at a time when there were a lot of games, and not so much just NLHE.

Then people post preflop play from PLO tournaments to show he is a fish. He limped behind like on the button. But you are supposed to limp behind light on the button with ante and no rake.

Then there are hand where he 3! light. In one case he had AKxx double suited. Well, you block AAxx and KKxx so there are half the combinations of those and the hand has equity and playability if called or 4!.

I watched replays of final tables of live and online PLO tournaments and people fold to 3!s a lot. It isn't like live 2/2 or 5/5 with loose/passive play where people will limp and cold call a 4! and you get a 5-way 4! pot. So it is totally reasonable to sometimes 3! light as a bluff and you wouldn't do it with something like QQ, which would be often dominated by calling or 4-betting hands.

I am not a fan of his, although I was acquainted with him and liked him from a really old training site and playing at his tables in online tournaments.

I don't see how he does what he does playing at stakes he maybe can't beat. Then making those ridiculous videos showing him driving, etc. Showing him with this pretty gold digger wife when he probably isn't interested in women. No one is going to watch that except non serious poker players, which is what GG is trying to attract.

In 2005, DN had an endorsement contract with Wynn in which he agreed to play anyone HU in any game. This implies he was a very strong HU and mixed game player.

It built his image as their sponsored pro, gave the Wynn publicity, built the poker room, and brought in spectators, who might play slots etc.

Here is a report on 2 stud matches he won against Greenstein. Seems pretty impressive not many took him up on it, and he won beat most of those who did.

IMO, that is more than sunrunning.

Im a huge DNegs fan, but alot of times I feel like he just raises that camera while he's walking away from the table cause he doesn't want to be bothered by all the fans in the hallway. Granted, I imagine it must be really difficult never being able to get from the table to your room without being stopped 1000 times, but others like Ivey and Hellmuth etc have figured out a way how to not hide behind the fact that they're filming or creating a vlog.
Not to mention, sometimes i feel like he is a little too willing to insult randoms while filming which one day is gonna piss someone off!
