nah wokism is non existent among older italians afaik (some exceptions will exist? but i never met an Italian 60+ IRL claiming people with dicks can be women for example, or that if blacks are poor in Africa it's entirely western fault).

it's more about i meet a lot of people and I just don't develop any personal relationship with the occasional radical feminist, green marxist, pro trans in sport and so on person (those are rarer in Italy than in the USA , but my city is a university city with 90k students in 500k people so it's more common here than in the rest of Italy).

but I mean for that stuff I am a moderate in my group (and in Italy as well, more than half want 0 immigration for ex) so it's not like we would be inviting the radical leftists to any party anyway.

I am talking group dinners, aperitivo in piazza and so on (yes we manage to have a life like it existed some decades ago meeting with friends regularly).

1) I was more socially to the left in my past and as all serious people I moved right with age, but I didn't forget my interactions in the past. also the people from the past I knew were bad (not for political reasons) mostly ended up being leftists these days (how do I know? they are on facebook and post anti-semitic trash since 2023, posted pro lockdown in 2020 and so on).

2) other people I know select less on politics and then get hit by that often enough for anecdotes to become data.

btw the 2) in Italy is super well known for business. don't hire radical leftists. they will use and abuse our very employee friendly labor laws to get infinite sick days for "depression", claim discrimination randomly to settle for some cash and so on. or they will threaten to denounce you if you don't follow all rules by the book (which is impossible to do in Italy to operate a business successfully) and ask for cash to keep quiet.

don't rent to them as they will do the same abusing the very tenant friendly laws.

The examples I orig. referenced are all from personal experience/friend's families etc. over my life. You have to really drill down on survey results to interpret them correctly, and I don’t think the inference you’re drawing here makes much sense.

I agree that people should speak English and I’m even ok with Trump codifying it as the official language, but I don’t think you are really accurately representing the picture of most immigrants in the US.
