Uhh not talking about the total amounts, comrade.

It’s the instability and lack of continuity that comes with constant roster churn, endless media speculation on extensions, forced parity, inequality of pay that could harm the overall product, etc.

The overall product is aces. Run with it or run from it

Bucks +4000 to title on DK
and +6000 to title on FD

Good value!?!?

Already placed bets at +1600 to win the East and +6000 to title

FD is +2300 to win the East

I wagered on both to win East and Title. Giannis man. He's a Hulk Freak.

Don’t have FD, but that seems like insane value for the team with the best player in the East. Even non-Bucks fans should be hammering that line.

ESPN.

ESPN has always been hit or miss with gambling related stuff, like every other msm outlet.

Knicks got a microwave for the minimum.

Clarkson!!! Lets ****ing Go!

Danny Ainge just moved Alchemist to SQRT 118 on the 5D chessboard.

East is decimated by injuries. Taking long odds for an intact team with Giannis seems obvious.

That said, limited depth and no point guard seems like it's going to make life tough for them.

I’m a believer in our ability to run with KPJ and AJ Green at point.

23-1 is too long since bucks could make another move as well

but im not really seeing the hype...theyre basically the bucks of 2 years ago now but without jrue holiday

2nd best player is turner, 3rd is KPJ? pretty rough

I also kinda think turner fades fast, no haliburton to make him better, got paid his last big deal, was in trade rumors for like 5 years. Might be cashed out. He's solid but probably not as good as what say Brolo was 2 years ago.

Dave McMenamin: “LeBron hasn’t had any discussions with the Lakers about wanting a trade. Rich Paul said four teams contacted him in the last 24 hours wanting to talk trades, but there weren’t any substantive conversations with those teams.” “Right now, LeBron is focused on playing on a championship-caliber roster. Rich told me: ‘There are no guarantees in building one, but we know what it looks like — and what it doesn’t look like.'”

seems like a weird thing to say if there isnt a good chance lebron is getting traded

lakers supposedly wanna prioritize cap room in '27 and not commit to long term deals that wont be good by then (DFS), not sure how this affects reaves next yr since he is gonna need like 5/180

He's already been in decline according to basically every metric. He's a solid role player with a unique skill set, but I don't think he's worth $49M/yr...

Lucky he didn't get paid $49M/yr.

Lucky he didn't get paid $49M/yr.

MIL is paying him $27M/yr and Dame $23M/yr which they had to do in order to sign him, so yeah, their investment in Myles is $49M/yr

I dont know about that one

yeah Dame died, he's sunk cost

can't really do that

wonder if Indy tries to buy low on dominAyton, they signed him to that 4/130 offer sheet 3 years ago

Dame had 2 years left, one of which it's possible he could've played on. Instead they're waiving him and stretching that money over 5 years at $23M per as a direct requirement of bringing Myles (or someone else) onto the team.

They've could've just ate it and been free, now they're gonna wear that cap hit for 5 years. What do you mean we can't really do that?

If you want to say it's worth it because this helps keep Giannis, ok cool, but to act like paying Dame $23M for 5 years was a foregone conclusion doesn't work. The Bucks 100% chose this

Not sure about that either. Could I use the logic the other way and say he was basically free because they were going to pay Dame 50M this season anyway.

You could if you want, now do his last two years, and then the year after that.

And again, if your thought is "Well that doesn't matter because Giannis is in his prime and you have to sell the farm to take advantage", that's fine. I'm not even saying that's a bad call for MIL, although I think they might've got better value for such a heavy investment.

Yeah, basically this deal means the Bucks get Myles in 2025-26 and 2026-27 for less of a cap hit overall. Bucks would’ve been above the first apron if they used the full MLE without this move, and now it’s possible for them to not even be a tax paying team this year. Now they will eventually have to pay for this, but stretching this out into the future makes the deadweight cap hit from Dame be a much smaller percentage of the cap than he would’ve been over the next two years.

So it’s a move that helps keep Giannis happy and the team around him competitive through the next few years, while giving the Bucks more flexibility in making moves.

This was likely in the works immediately from the open of FA, with local Milwaukee media hinting yesterday they had something big in the works. So you can also argue this likely contributed to them being able to quickly lock in all of their younger free agents on team friendly deals, knowing the team had things in play to remain a contending team.

haven't watched any bucks games but was dame really that bad? statistically speaking he's still a very good player without much change

yeah I suppose if you look at it like that but next 2 years Dame was sunk (although Dame on an expiring probably has value in a trade)

thing is in 3-4 years when Giannis is old/gone, Bucks are gonna suck either way so Dame's 20M on the books then won't really matter much

I think most likely scenario is they lose rd 1 next year and he gets traded next summer unless they can make another move or two.

They still have most of their picks right? Man they should just deal for LeBron....Once Giannis is gone, they aren't getting someone that good until the robots take over anyway.

They actually played better and “more free” offensively down the stretch when Dame went down.

Giannis can run the point too. Ladder his assist props to start the season imho.

I dont think MIL owns their own pick until 2031. It's all swaps at other teams control until then.

Next year would've been interesting. Dame at $50M on an expiring is a powerful piece to bring in guy to pair with Giannis...if hes still there

As of 550pm MST 7/1 Bucks +1300 to win East +4000 to rang on DK

Not sure why you're giving the Pacers FO a pass for this. It's pure cheapness and not wanting to pay luxury tax.

The guys in the front office aren't the the guys who get to decide if they pay the tax. Pacers ownership never goes into the tax. It was a miracle they were apparently willing to I think literally the first time ever to keep this team together if it was healthy. But its not, so that's gone, and the front office is now making the best decisions it can under the restrictions the Pacers always have to work under.

Not paying the tax now might kick the "pay the tax one time ever" can down the road a few years. Sounds great to me
