I can see Orlando making a leap like Cleveland next year. Young team that improved their roster and a weakened conference.

Hornets 500:1 to win the East

Not long enough.

I'm personally looking forward to 3-5 more years of unprecedented levels of cope as the Thunder dominate the league.

As for Hali injury its obviously a tragedy. If you watch what happened though, it was poor form that exacerbated the situation and not a full failure from the calf injury.

He did a step back, while maintaining the center of gravity, overextended the leg and pushed off his heel when he should have pushed off the ball of his foot. Many people would injure themselves doing the same thing

Jordan had an ugly wife. Federer has an ugly wife. Brady's wife looked like a man with a wig. LeBron Jame's wife and Kobe's wife are a 5 at best. Steph Curry's wife has a permanent resting bitchface. See a pattern here? You can't be the goat or goatish with a hot wife. It would be too distracting. Gotta have 110% focus. Shai's future is very bright.

You can't call Vanessa Bryant ugly and not show us your wife dude

Man, if I had a nickel for every time in the past 11 years the star player of the basketball team I like suffered a career altering lower leg injury, I'd have 3 nickels, which isn't a lot, but **** me running

I am not buying for a second that this was "poor form." He wasn't trying to push off using his heel. It would be virtually impossible to generate momentum without pushing through the ball of your foot.

It's far more likely that your still captures the exact moment when his Achilles snapped. In that moment, his heel dropped all the way to the floor because it was no longer supported by an intact Achilles. Or in the alternative, it was millisecond before his Achilles popped, his weight was supported by the ball of his foot, and you are just observing the normal amount of flexion in his ankle (which varies from person to person).

While you are correct that I capture the breaking moment which exaggerates the poor form, loading up on an overextended leg is absolutely poor form

Now if the injury caused the poor form, I dunno

no argument on jordan's 1st - remember how confused i was by that as a kid - but jordan's 2nd wife is hot

federer solidly above average and was clearly preggo when they got married

brady's wife is smoking hot - you're insane

lebron - attractive

kobe - attractive

steph - attractive

How could it be otherwise? No athlete has ever tried to start moving forward by pushing through the heel of his foot. That would be a highly unnatural and ineffective way to move. Think about trying to initiate forward momentum by pushing off the heel of your foot. You would be hopelessly slow off the mark.

I'm a 5. I have to beg for 6's and pay for 7's. This should give me more street cred, not less. If I was a perfect 10 who could get whoever I want my judgement of what's hot or not would be extremely skewed. So as a 5 if I tell you Kobe/Lebron's wife is meh--like I would only have sex with them if I was bored and there was nothing on TV--that should hold some weight.

Right, so either his leg was so messed up that the strech in his achilles was so significant that even utilizing proper form the momentum from his normal load exploded his leg or he overcompensated due to the injury and adrenaline and made a mistake.

I personally think it was the latter, but if it was the former then I hope it was explained to him how flimsy that leg really was.

I really, really, really don't think it was the latter. It would be a wildly unnatural movement to try and push through your heel, and it certainly isn't the sort of thing I could imagine an elite athlete doing by mistake. It would be almost as unnatural as a right-handed NFL quarterback throwing a pass with this left arm by mistake because he was compensating for an injury.

But whatever, it doesn't really matter.

some Suns radio guy saying Minn offered gobert, ddv, dillingham and 17 for KD

not sure i believe that...maybe contingent on him being willing to stay but cant imagine phx took that over hou deal

PHX prob just really loved Brooks. Defense wins championships afterall

No way all this was offered.

Ishbia is dumb but he would have to be a ****ing moron not to take that deal. **** KD.

What can you tell me about Anfernee Simons?

Shams Charania
Senior NBA Insider

BREAKING: The Boston Celtics have traded Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons and two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

Celtics almost got as much for Jrue as the Suns did for KD.

Simons is a FA in a year so might just be a salary dump

Jrue contract is about 10M too much but meh, not sure what else Portland can spend it on and he's still a quality player

by Dynasty

What can you tell me about Anfernee Simons?

Boston can def use his offense w/ Tatum out.

The problem with that logic is that if the chances of a tear are high enough, then the chances that he doesn't play enough of the game to matter (which is more or less what happened) go up enormously as well.

As opposed to how much of the game he would've played if he sat out?

The way I see it, three things can happen (it's not exactly as straightforward as this but it's not far off):

- He sits out, they lose, but can reload next year
- He plays, injures himself, they lose and it alters the entire trajectory of the franchise
- He plays, doesn't injure himself, and they have the best chance they'll ever get of winning a title.

I don't know what the chance of injury has to be make sitting out correct there but it feels pretty damn high to me

Absolute clown take

by Rococo

The best analogy would be a star baseball pitcher who knows in advance of a game 7 that he has UCL damage but not a complete tear. He might be able to pitch effectively until the moment it pops, and assessing the risk of it popping is difficult.

Kershaw pulling himself after 88 pitches & 7 perfect innings.
