NBA 2025-26 Season Thread: THE NY KNICKS ARE CHAMPIONS! BING BONG!
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
Haliburton, the great PG with the great weakness.
ok i finally learned how to read, and
NBA MVPs to be named NBA Finals MVP in the same season
Of the 14 players to win a championship and be named regular season MVP in the same year, 10 of them pulled off a trifecta by earning NBA Finals MVP honors:
Willis Reed (1969-70)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1970-71)
Moses Malone (1982-83)
Larry Bird (1983-84, 1985-86)
Magic Johnson (1986-87)
Michael Jordan (1990-91, 1991-92, 1995-96, 1997-98)
Hakeem Olajuwon (1993-94)
Shaquille O'Neal (1999-00)
Tim Duncan (2002-03)
LeBron James (2011-12, 2012-13)
* NBA Finals MVP was not created until the 1968-69 season, so Cousy, Russell and Chamberlain did not have a chance to add it to their trophy collections.
joker not being on this list must mean that was the year they stupidly gave the mvp to embuust huh
The Hornets have now drafted 2 MVP champions. Traded them both on draft night.
They definitely replace Burke with Malone
The Pacers played their hearts out. But the Thunder were just too good. Every year the Lakers or the Celtics don't win a chip is a good year for the world. Long live the small market dynasty.
lol
The "Chet sucks" posts didn't age that well. He played great in the second half.
seemed like presti was fighting off the urge to say "KD look at us now" during his interview
Myles Turner was a court decoration tonight. Just running around out there getting a bit of exercise.
LOL at Hartenstein's kid. Kids can sleep through anything.
yeah id maybe pay turner but id have my eye on moving on from him sooner than later and trying to get more of a rim runner big/defensive center, that is 1 of the easier positions to fill in nba so paying turner like 30M seems like a mistake
he should have a lot of suitors since he can be a stretch 5 next to a 4 who cant shoot as well
obviously Indy should be thinking '26-27 now
as someone who would have made close to 6 figures on chet finals mvp, was beyond trolling just prior to the announcement they give chet a special highlights package and go with "congratulations Chet you are......................
Spoiler
and nba champion"

Pacers' offense doesn't work with a non-stretch 5, so you have to find one of those if you're replacing Turner.
Obviously that all hinges on Hali coming back and being able to play but if not, everything is moot anyway

I'd almost be thinking even the season afterwards. A bit much to expect a full year out with an achilles and then coming straight back into leading to some sort of contention.
Just truly disastrous :(

he had 0 chance to win mvp so not sure why you would feel trolled

this is something that can be worked out like 18 months from now but id imagine their offense can be recalibrated away from a stretch 5 and having more of a rim runner who has gravity around the rim for haliburton passes/lobs
although that guy maybe wouldn't be best fit with the current roster but haliburton and that type of player makes perfect sense
hard to say their offense wouldnt work without turner, we have no clue what their personnel will be in 18 months
he certainly had better than 200:1 which is what i got majority of it at
sga gets contained, it's a low scoring series, or sga sprains an ankle and misses a game or two and he's very live
when the buzzer sounded he had 0.0% chance is what i mean, thus why i said i dont know why you wouldve felt trolled about it
i had $350,000 on hartenstein mvp :( :( fml
Shai has no confidence. Ugly girlfriend
