Seymour Hirsh says the US is going to bomb Iran and take out Khomeini and then everything will be ok.

I like how all the tankies are arguing that having a nuclear bomb will be a deterrent for Iran; when the country with allegedly the 5th largest arsenal in the world (Israel) has been attacked and invaded more times in the last 70 years than literally every other nation in the world combined. And even now is being hit by hundreds of ballistic missiles.
Without saying it, the tankies are acknowledging that Israel is a much more ethical and responsible country than Iran under the IRGC is believed to be. As it wouldn’t resort to nuclear strikes in situations the IRGC plausibly would.
The Iranians aren't even Arabs or Sunnis, so God knows why they think they're entitled to an opinion on Palestine, but evidently they imagine that through proxy militias and ballistic-missile threats they can make the Middle East their imperial domain and put one over on the Sunni Arab states. This will not work, obviously.
I did a quick dive as to why exactly this happened, but couldn’t really get a clear answer. At some point around 2000 Khameni decided to take up the Palestinian cause and promise the destruction of Israel. One presumes this was aligned with a strategic decision among the IRGC and mullahs to attack Israel as part of a broader strategy to push IRGC influence through the region.
The most interesting thing I read during the semi deep dive that I didn’t know was that Israel was secretly Iran’s biggest benefactor during the Iran-Iraq war (with US blessing) as Sharon hoped it could lead to better relations down the road.
But obviously Khameni and other IRGC leaders decided to go another way.
Very interesting what if, if Israel does not support Iran during the initial invasion and Iraq does much better militarily how different things play out in the region.
Anyone know why the Norwegian Ambassador's home in Israel would be targeted by a grenade? Norway is one of the most neutral countries in the world.

toll: 64, which will have no effect on the ghouls in here. How dare you call people like me "ghouls"? Sure I hang out in cemeteries, carry chains around and wear a sheet with 2 eyeholes cut out, but I'm far from a ghoul good sir.

Trump has announced the US will take no direct action in the next 2 weeks against Iran, and focus on negotiating. Probably his expectation is there will be a nuclear deal in the next couple weeks, so the US wont ever get directly involved at all.
Israel for its part will probably continue to degrade the regime as much as possible in the interim while hoping to continue to run good without IRGC ballistic missiles doing too much damage.
I am not sure what the plan is for the IRGC. They will surely come out of this mostly unscathed as far as domestic security. No tanks or boots on the ground against them.
But there seems to be no future where the regime will be able to project any regional power for a long time. Which means the Revolution is pretty much done (for the near future at least), and Iran is just your typical run-of-the-mill authoritarian theocracy.

No they havent.
Netanhayu is now
a) comparing the situation in Israel, in which so far 24 people have died, with the Uk during the Blitz that killed more than 40,000
b) calling his wife a hero and talking about how his family too are suffering because his son has had to postpone his wedding

Norway recognised Palestine and established diplomatic relations last year, and last month the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund disinvested from Israel's Paz Energy & Retail, because it supplies fuel and power to Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and the Norwegian trade-union federation voted for a wider trade boycott against Israel, at least against firms connected to the settlements.

My own shitty government has established diplomatic relations with Hamas also, seeing as they're the dictator in chief of Palestine. Really sickens me.
They've chosen the lesser of two evils.

Any "news" that isn't confirmed as factually true by sources that never pandered hamas propaganda , we treat as if it never happened at all.

Thanks. Surprised about that but maybe that is just how northern they are and that is getting to them (which is a shout out to the Irish as well there).
Just on a personal note - I literally can't speak or believe my mother anymore that she basically takes a Hamas position. It is really sad how extreme left she has become.

As mentioned a while ago, what has always been the case in Italy, Spain and a few other places (the I/P conflict being the proxy of right vs left) has become the norm almost everywhere (at least in the west).
All the horrible, leftist socialist people are pro Hamas, all the decent, pro capitalism and freedom people are pro Israel.
Lula , one of the worst elected leaders in a democracy in history (with no election rigging or anything, really elected), a true monster, is obviously pro Hamas.
Milei, one of the best leaders elected in a long while in south america, is obviously pro Israel.
The trash radical leftist, actual self-defined communists in europe are all pro-Hamas. All the technocratic, capitalist normal parties and people are pro Israel in europe.
Within center-left parties in europe, the wise, technocratic, reasonable, centrist people are pro Israel. The populist, vociferous, "almost marxist" (think AOC) parts are all pro Hamas.
Greta is obviously pro Hamas as well.
The pro hans thing is just a lie you tell yourself
It may help justify the horror show in your mind but it's doing Israel no favours to be so deluded

It isn't, they literally established official relationship with Hamas, or ask for the same to happen in countries that didn't do that yet. It's people chanting Hamas slogans ("globalize the intifada" , "from river to the sea" and others).
I am not talking people like you, i am talking actual pro Hamas people, people who disagree with the notion that Hamas is a terrorist organization that should be wiped out.
I understand it's hard to admit it, but a significant portion of the pro-palestine crowd is actually pro Hamas as well.
Notice that i am NOT counting as "pro-Hamas" someone who only limits himself to stuff like "bibi is a war criminal", if they can also admit Hamas is a terrorist organization which we should get rid of with lethal force. Those are people i disagree with, but they aren't pro Hamas.

Britain is heavily involved in the Gaza genocide. they manufacture and send tons of weapons to Israel. and almost every day they fly spy planes out of Cyprus to Gaza to pick out families for the Israelis to bomb. and they almost certainly have special forces contributing to the extermination on the ground.

You're not convincing anyone by using "we" a lot. There's you, an abomination of a human being, and there's everyone else, various shades of more humanity.
