President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

The country club reactionaries in California and NY voted for Trump. I know that there a lot of them in Nor Cal.

But Im seeing Trump won 64% of whites without a college degree. And if I look at the Appalachia and the Midwest vote, he crushed the low-income toothless voter base which likely had a higher turnout.

I'm in the Midwest.

I can throw a rock in my 18-person office and hit half a dozen white people without college degrees who voted for Trump but are undeniably crushing life in every conceivable way as members of the top 5% living their personal American dream.

Talking down at people for being "uneducated" just because they don't have a sheepskin is part of the reason that America is as ****ed as it is from a political standpoint.

Those uneducated rubes build and maintain the structures you live and work in.

The objectionable quality is that of being ignorant, not that of being uneducated. The two do often go hand in hand, and are unfortunately often conflated.

People like ecritude want to pretend that the HR ladies with trash degrees are more intelligent than the people who install and maintain the air conditioning where they pretend to work.

Everyone knows that's false, everyone knows those HR ladies contribution to society is a significant negative and their jobs are worse than fake, they are a drag to society.

But the institutions ecritude works for need the money that comes with pretending to educate millions of those people with taxpayers guaranteeing the loans and regulations mandating their fake, net negative jobs have to exist.

Ignorant about what exactly? Almost everyone who doesn't care as a hobby or for his job about fiscality is ignorant about that for example.

What do you think is the percentage of people who can in detail tell you what a Roth IRA is vs a 401k?

Of course it will be higher among people with a PhD, but it might be the case we are talking 8% of non-college degree and 25% of PhD (yes I am saying this randomly, but you know this makes sense)

You really seem to be struggling with words of late. "Ignorant" can, but doesn't have to be *of* anything specific. Why don't you look it up in the dictionary and let me know if you have any more questions about what I meant?

You seem to be struggling with alcohol lately.

I asked "ignorant about WHAT exactly". Then i provided just an example about a crucial , existential topic for a society (fiscal matters).

Do you think PhDs aren't ignorant in general about other crucial topics? do you think bio-engineers can easily cite you 5-10 crucial SCOTUS precedents they think are good for society and they don't want to be reversed ? or say do you think they have clear ideas of the exact scope of what american intervention around the world should be, with which kind of force projection and why?

Or i mean, you tell me some political topic you think is crucial where at least half of the PhDs that can vote have decent information about, go!

I haven't had anything to drink in over a week. I doubt the same can be said about you. Read what I said again. Now read what you wrote. If you can't see why what you wrote is already covered by what I said, I can't help you. Maybe it's time for that remedial reading course after all.

I'll give you a hint. You can be wary of something, or just wary in general. You can be paranoid about something, or just paranoid in general. See if you can figure out the pattern here and how this pattern might apply to the word "ignorant".

I am not a madman, i wouldn't avoid alcohol for a week ever. But i only strictly drink when eating.

You said the objectionable quality is being ignorant. I am trying to tell you the vast majority of people is deeply ignorant about crucial political topics. That's very normal and expected, especially by well educated people, because unless you have a hobby about politics, living your life doesn't leave enough time to learn even the basics of most political matters.

So under your "objectionable quality" standard only people who spend considerable time for fun discusing politics AND manage to grasp elements of several distinct topics could vote. Which is kinda insane.

Your answer is that you want to send me a re-education camp.

Jfc. Replace the word "ignorant" with the word "stupid" if it make you feel better. Are you still going to make the same argument?

Not a re-education camp. An education camp. To teach you how to ****ing read. The fact I've had to explain this very basic point several times over the last few posts really bolsters my case here.

not about compensation here. It's about "non college" vs college. The HVAC guys probably voted for trump 80%+ and ecritude treats them like if they were homeless people and the HR ladies were the genuine pillar upon which society stands.

Ye you need 1/10 of the current HR to actually do actual HR stuff. Pre-civil act stuff. The abhorrent racial and gender mafia regulation and the rest build up the core of the functions of those departments these days with jobs that are a significant net drag on society. And it's almost all women in those jobs and they almost all vote democrat.

you repeating a stupid & false thing doesn't make me accondescend to it.

Stupid instead of ignorant is completly, utterly, different.

If your problem is stupid you have a big problem.

If you had just taken my suggestion to look the word up in the dictionary, we wouldn't have to keep going back and forth like this.

He'll admit he was wrong if it is about something trivial, or if he can put it on being a native Italian speaker. Like when he used "beg the question" incorrectly.

So… you do need HR then, you just don’t like the regulation. That you WOULD need less HR staff if there was less HR need says nothing about what is ACTUALLY needed. I doubt the largest and most profitable companies in the world are spending millions on HR without a business need. If they were, then someone can do the exact same as them and just cut out the HR and be instantly more competitive.

And yeah, HVAC guys can be pretty freaking dumb. I don’t know if you ever work with your hands but if you have the chance to not work with your hands and make the same money or better you will. They end up with ****ed backs/necks/shoulders/etc.

That excuse might hold water if he hadn't just spent the best part of an hour arguing with a native English speaker about what an English word means instead of just ****ing looking it up, and didn't have a rap sheet as long as my dick for constantly misusing words and making up his own definitions even after being corrected about a million times.

I'm not really going to feed you too much longer, but it says it right there - IN GENERAL. You kept asking me to point out what SPECIFIC things these ignorant people lack knowledge about.

The "stupid" is under "similar words". I'm beginning to suspect I'm talking to the ****ing stupid.

by mongidig

Believe it or not, most Trump voters don't even like Trump. If you people just toned down the weirdness and constant outrage just a little you might have a chance.

Facts

Sorry I get outraged at a guy that was impeached for attempting to steal an election. I will try to have a very calm reaction next time someone tries to steal an election.

"Crushing in life in every conceivable way" is code for "makes lots of dollars"

Making money isn't indicative of intelligence or "crushing" in life

I worked with a bunch of unhappy idiots in insurance who made gobs of money

Doting wives, kids, power toys, cabins on a lake, flexible if somewhat stressful jobs with unlimited PTO of the non-scammy variety.

Most of them paid their dues in the field and have now moved into the office.

Everyone has something negative in their life regardless of what picture is painted on the outside, but you'd be hard pressed to put any of these people in the, "Yeah, but at what cost?" camp.

Turns out not all the right-wingers are miserable toothless simpletons living in trailers on a swamp.

I hang out with a fair few right-leaning guys/trump voters that I grew up with/are lots of fun to hang out with--regularly going to concerts etcetc. And Inso's description is pretty accurate to me for the non-college guys/trump voters in the mix.

'beg the question' is probably misused more than it's used correctly.

I’ve installed HVAC whev I was in high school. If you think you need to be smart to do it you’re either an idiot never done it or both. It’s insane that people even have to go to school for trades. I could take anyone with a college degree and have them maintaining and installing HVAC in n a month. I didn’t know anything when I started and I was 15.
