Cars are just a liability. A new car is one of the dumbest purchases an individual can make.
But fundamentally, comparing not buying a car with supporting regressive policy that actively harms the majority of a nations population is questionable
This has nothing to do about whether it's a good or bad investment to buy a car. Obviously buying new is not the best investment. That being said, some people like the newest models with all the bells and whistles. They like the peace of mind of having a reliable vehicle. Sometimes used cars are higher priced than normal. Also, you can get better interest rates with a new car. I personally pay cash so this wouldn't apply to me. I obviously don't pay cash at the dealership. I pay it off after the loan goes through.
What "regressive" policy are you talking about?
Boycotting something is dumb no matter what the reason is assuming you would normally consume the product. I don't drink Bud Light so that didn't apply to me.

I am very confused by this sentiment. You had no reason to expect anything other than exactly what you are getting from a second Trump term. If I stuck my dick in a bee hive two times, I'm sure that I'd have a strong reaction both times, but I don't think that my main reaction to the second encounter would be disappointment.

Of course it isn't exactly the same as his first term. He learned a few lessons the first time around, and I don't mean lessons about how to be a better president. And he is governing a different country than he was in 2017..
The point is that all this was entirely foreseaable and predictable. For example, you didn't have to be an oracle to foresee that Trump would place a greater emphasis on surrounding himself with loyalists than he did the first time around.
