President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
No. This is the police, including the incident with the photographer being shot in the head from 100yd which you're talking about (the shooter being an officer of the California Highway Patrol, apparently), and they're sponge bullets, which some media misdescribe as rubber bullets. And American police never needed Trump's permission to act like thugs.
Actually, I believe one of the reasons that both Coordi and Crossnerd are excellent moderators is because they take out their anger and frustration on posters they don't like in their posting, rather than with the banhammer.
The "nice" mods were, ironically, more loose with the banhammer.
Obama deported 2.9 million in his first term. Biden deported 1.5 million. Trump's monthly deportation rates so far are lower than Biden's, though no doubt he wants them higher. The riots are riots. Nobody is swabbing anybody with sponges, nor did I say they were, and sponge rounds are ballistic projectiles and can and do inflict injury. You just don't understand the terminology
Why do we keep getting this same tired talking point? Are you guys actually going to address the objection that the problem is people not getting due process or being sent to actual gulags in El Salvador? Or American citizens getting deported? Or people in the country legally? Or not working with local municipalities to make sure deportations are done with respect to the community?
This is just ridiculous how you keep trying to point at numbers without dealing with any of the substantive critiques.
Imagine if mainstream media journalists all posted the same thing at the same time. What would Trump supporters think about that?
Walsh is a racist homphobic xenophobic bigot who seems to have a manly man lumberjack cosplay fetish. (To go with his apparent fetish for 16 year old girls.)
The other two seem in bot/c&p from each other mode.

Stop getting sucked into this idiotic comparison.
Border crossings are down 95% or more so far in 2025. Without the easy marks to go after right near the border, ICE is hitting the interior harder and lefties are losing their goddamned minds over it.
Trump is issuing National Guard into LA and they also sent additional agents to ****ing MinnesotaAnd no, its not sponge bullets, they are pelting people in the head with rubber bulletsMy god you bootlickers are legitimately pathetic"Well Trump is just deporting people like Obama, and these aren't protests they are riots, and the police are literally swabbing the rioters with sp
Well, broadly speaking Trump is exploiting already existing policies for his own ends. Colour me shocked. Doesn't nullify the fact that every country including yours, deports illegals.
Secondly they ****ing well are riots to go with looting and claiming otherwise is blatantly untrue. They're burning cars, ramming motorbikes into cops and throwing rocks at cars and cops- that's rioting. Maybe you think a pussified tea & sympathy approach should be used against rioters, but I don't and neither do other normal people.
Two years ago over my way some addled migrant knifed three small kids at a school and as a result a bunch of bigoted thugs rioted and looted in Dublin, harassed and attacked normal migrants coming back from work and caused absolute chaos. It certainly wasn't a "protest" just like these LA riots aren't.
The cops shoulda baton charged the shite outa the scummy shower of filth.
But they didn't and this was the result.
Espouse your beliefs and ideology all you want but stop being so wilfully dishonest. This is no protest. It's a ****ing riot.

Oh come on its only a small % of folks that this happens to isn't that argument that the left uses for illegals committing violent crimes or trans athletes in sports
respect to the community. They are here illegally

That doesn't justify rioting and especially looting. Trump's gonna Trump. Try get the mfr impeached again. Start peaceful protests regularly. Write to your congress rep. Don't burn ****, throw rocks or loot. Because you'll just look like a bunch of opportunistic thugs who are abusing the right to protest if you do.

I guess that explains why he is one of my favorites on the youtoobs.
You're on a role Geez

I don’t know what part of this post was supposed to be addressing what part of my post? Do you think that there isn’t a problem with the criticisms I made of Trump and that it doesn’t differentiate Trump’s policies from Obama’s and Biden’s?

I don’t know what this is supposed to be doing either. I wholeheartedly condemn any violence or vandalism. That doesn’t change the criticisms that I made. So this seems like a nonsequitor to the issue of whether Trump’s policies are substantively different from Biden and Obama.

I think it was the then-mayor of Minneapolis who started backtracking on her support for "Defund the Police" when her own home was violated by thugs.
Pretty sure Newsom would be fine with calling the National Guard if hundreds of "mostly peaceful" MAGA-hats were protesting "peacefully" at the Governor's Mansion.
Yeah its pointless arguing with people who can't stay on topic and spin up weirdo strawmen constantly

Cuz you said
Are you guys actually going to address the objection
What context do you mean this in? A bunch of peeps objecting on a forum and arguing or objection manifested as riots due to deportations?
So no it's not a non sequitur, it's a perfectly reasonable inference to make on account of a big ass riot that's still ongoing as we speak.
Just a friendly reminder for the non-US posters, the second amendment only exists in our constitution because the founding fathers said if the government deploys its military against its citizens, the citizens have a right to fight back.

I believe the fashionable term is uprising. "Rioting" is bad. But an "uprising" is virtuous looting and burning.

I don't agree with the armed forces being used against citizens, even rioting ones. Rioting and looting was happening before the armed forces were deployed though, and as was already pointed out, they're not being used for crowd control anyway, so they've nobody to fight "back" against.
Pointing out your imitation of Pinocchio isn't a strawman argument. Stop proactively lying that this isn't a riot and you won't get corrected.
You are legitimately a ******

Because you have repeated this about 12 times today and you are wrong
and instead of, you know, doing a bit of research, you are just repeating ******ation ad nauseum despite multiple people pointing out that you are being ******ed
and while the adults try to have a nuanced conversation you are just koolaid manning your ******ation over and over and over

Theoretically the National Guard is there to protect a federal facility, which is lawful.
I don't see how deploying the Marines is lawful at all in this situation.
