Sinners exceeded the hype. The guitar scene with Sammie was my favorite part in a movie that had a lot of great parts. Loved the mix of Irish with the Delta. All around great movie that should win all of the awards.
I love seeing something new in an old favorite.
Get Shorty was on last night. In the scene where Chili Palmer and Harry Zimm meet, Zimm says how he almost had a heart attack. "If I have a heart attack, I hope you know how to what to do."
Finally recognized the callback to the Mia problem in Pulp Fiction.
There was something else in the opening few minutes, but I can't recall it right now.

And listening, I'd say. He gets a lot of information out of the people he's talking with by just listening, and saying something occasionally to steer the conversation a certain way.

Get Shorty is a huge fave here. Dennis Farina almost stole the show, in my book. Yes it is amazing no matter how many times you watch an old favorite there are tons of things you can't believe are even in there.
OMG I could have made Farina's "Did you just say 'look at me'"? scene so much better, imo. Before he picked up the phone and smashed him with it, he should have said, "Can I use your phone?" Then BAM! Would have been a roll on the floor for me.

Was my favorite part too. Brought it from a 10/10 to a 12/10
Only movie I’ve ever gone back the very next day to watch again. Was the only person there both matinees which made it even more fun
Checking out movie times for tomorrow at the local Cineplex and saw that The Grave of the Fireflies will be shown as part of a Ghibli series.
Also, the 41st anniversary showing of Spinal Tap, I guess because it goes up to 11.

Road to Perdition staring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Judd Law, Daniel Craig (pre-Bond), child actor Tyler Hoechlin (tv Superman & Lois), Stanley Tucci and many other character actors, holds up well over 20 years later. The cinematography is top notch. Watch it while you are not distracted doing something else.

Ah, the hitman with a heart of gold. I remember EW “Hanks Goes To The Dark Side” lol. Tripe. Homeless man’s Death Wish (1974). Made One Hour Photo look like Henry: Portrait Of Serial Killer. Made Crash (2004) seem thought provoking. Shameless sanitized Oscar chum.
Make a great double feature with A History Of Violence on Really Bad Adaptations Of Graphic Novels Night.
