a few years ago she called out capitalism as the root of the climate problem.

“The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all. Carloads of oranges dumped on the ground. The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit- and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country. Burn coffee for fuel in the ships. Burn corn to keep warm, it makes a hot fire. Dump potatoes in the rivers and place guards along the banks to keep the hungry people from fishing them out. Slaughter the pigs and bury them, and let the putrescence drip down into the earth.

There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There is a failure here that topples all our success. The fertile earth, the straight tree rows, the sturdy trunks, and the ripe fruit. And children dying of pellagra must die because a profit cannot be taken from an orange. And coroners must fill in the certificate- died of malnutrition- because the food must rot, must be forced to rot. The people come with nets to fish for potatoes in the river, and the guards hold them back; they come in rattling cars to get the dumped oranges, but the kerosene is sprayed. And they stand still and watch the potatoes float by, listen to the screaming pigs being killed in a ditch and covered with quick-lime, watch the mountains of oranges slop down to a putrefying ooze; and in the eyes of the people there is the failure; and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath. In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage.”

If she is, then unlimited criticism and hatred toward her are fully warranted and morally justified from the right.

Which you found weird and an obsession.

Marxism is absolutely evil and It is a moral imperative to push against every single Marxist who reaches high publicity as if he was the devil incarnate, because that's what Marxism is

Thats not what happened. She was attacked for saying how dare you at the age of 15 before doing or saying anything marxist, if she has in-fact done or said anything marxist. I don't really know nor do I really care

Only radicalized Jews aren’t radicalized people right ?

I don't understand this question.

He asks, while gobblin on Trump's, Putin's and Hitler's genitals.

That is simply not true!

Not reading all the commie v cap idiocy but Greta seems fine.

She's come down hard on the US for not doing enough.

She's stated China's emissions has "surpassed all other developed nations combined"

She's accused Russia of an unprovoked full scale invasion.

Shes' been accused by Westerners as being a commie and a "puppet of western politicians" from the east. Like wtf do you want her to do? That's what happens when you get popular.

In the end, all she is is firewood for the political degens to heat things up for however it serves them. But why anyone gives a **** is what I really want to know.

That's about right.

There is a problem which is that we give such ridiculously high prominence to someone who isn't remotely an expert and is so obviously not an expert. Then we try to object when the other side does the same - unsuprisingly they know it's bullshit.

You didn't need to be an expert to see what was causing climate change - you only needed to listen to the experts instead of thinking you know better than them.

I think Greta is an insufferable annoying entitled brat but to say she deserves actual hatred is silly and to imply her ship should be blown up is just more trolling from Mongi.

you can argue she is just a vessel used by extremely evil people to spread some of the most vile existing propaganda, and you would probably be correct, so yes we should hate her ideas & puppeteers sure.

But as a compact form of communication you convey a very similar message by hating on her

In other news the italian parliament just passed a package of laws to criminalize several leftist abhorrent behaviours, some abhorrent immigrant behaviors, and some more generally bad behaviors that for long were just treated as misdemeanors or "light crime" here in Italy.

1) Occupying other people houses (or public buildings) is now a crime and law enforcement can enter and remove the parasites without a warrant (ofc if asked by the owner to do so).

2) Interrupting vehicle circulation on the road or train tracks is now a crime and not a misdemeanor. Doing it with a group of people is now a severe crime.

3) Destroying / vilifying public buildings is now a severe crime

4) Protesting by blocking construction of a site is now an exceptionally severe crime

5) Any form of prison rioting is now a very severe crime

6) No more automatic suspension of law enforcement people while being indicted of a crime committed while exercizing thir functions. Legal expenses for the first round of trials fully covered by the state.

7) Law enforcement members can automatically carry weapons while not on duty in their private life with no added bureaucracy

8) Aggravating factors to sentencing have been added to any crime committed upon public transportation or at train stations and airports and the like

9) When committing fraud, if the target are elders that is now a severe aggravating factor in sentencing

/

The only stupid provisions of the bill (what is above i fully agree with) are

10) low THC cannabis is now fully illegal again

11) you can only buy a sim card if you are a permanent resident (no idea why this was introduced)

vilifying public buildings is now a severe crime

I thought you said you're a libertarian? People can be free to express their opinion and political beliefs, and I'm free to opine how annoying I can find Greta.

by weeeez

wtf

Maybe he meant vandalizing?

Number 9 is pretty stupid; don't know why it's worse to defraud older people.

by weeeez

wtf

well opinions might differ but i think attempting to draw a graffiti upon a 14th century palace is a very heinous action which should be treated with the utmost severity

general concept of , if you target particularly weak people you are worse for society.

yes i meant ruining even just aestethically a building (or attempting to)

Finding her an insufferable muppet doesn't equate to me actually hating on her.

Libertarianism for him and his ilk, the underside of the jackboot for everyone else.

This is the key.

Not sure where to put this, but I think it’s pretty crazy.

Texas passed a law in the early 2000s that let undocumented kids qualify for in state tuition. Not free money, not scholarships, just they would pay the in state rate. Rick Perry lauded it.

There was an attempt to rescind the law this past year- which failed. As in, not enough state reps supported repealing it.

So after trying to push it through an R dominated legislature failed, the Texas AG and the DOJ agreed that the DOJ would sue Texas alleging the law is illegal and Texas would immediately concede. They filed the lawsuit in a district that had a virtual guarantee of putting it before a judge who has ruled repeatedly that Obamacare was unconstitutional. He granted it within 6 hours and the law is gone.

Edit: read about it a bit more. Multiple lawsuits from private plaintiffs trying to strike this down had already previously failed.

US trade deficit narrows sharply in Apri...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. trade deficit narrowed sharply in April, with imports decreasing by the most on record as the front-running of goods ahead of tariffs ebbed, which could provide a lift to economic growth this quarter.

The trade gap contracted by a record 55.5% to $61.6 billion, the lowest level since September 2023, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis said on Thursday. Data for March was revised to show the trade deficit having widened to an all-time high of $138.3 billion rather than the previously reported $140.5 billion.

That seem really bad?

It’s horrible

Did he post that because he thought it was good news??
