The new trend is pretty clear. You can’t be a serious contender in this era without significant depth and good two way players. These KD style super teams don’t work because it’s near impossible to fill out the roster

CotY usually goes to the guy whose team overperforms expectations, which can often be flukey obv. Then, when the coach can't keep up the success and/or get over the hump, he gets shitcanned.
That or coaches just get fired a lot. I dunno
