NBA 2025-26 Season Thread: THE NY KNICKS ARE CHAMPIONS! BING BONG!
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
Siakam is really underrated.
Dude is a PIMP.
Glad I lived long enough to see us get to another finals. Harboring no belief that we can take the finals past 5 games but it's nice to feel good about the Pacers again for a little bit.
Going to be a long shot going against OKC, but for at least a little bit, this is pretty cool
Pacers are playing with house money and can enter the Finals Young/Wild/Free.
Nobody will pick them to win. All the pressure is on OKC.
One day there will be a movie about their championship 24-25 season.
Hoosiers 2
Pacers are on an incredible heater, but I don't think OKC is a good matchup for them. OKC handles pace as well as any team in the NBA, they hardly ever turn it over, and they have an army of guys who excel at making long guards like Haliburton work for it.

The Pacers weren't the reason for it, but if you built a team to beat the Pacers' style of play, it would be OKC.
Yeah, easy to say about a team that won 68 games, but they just do so many things well that the Pacers typically exploit. He won't get enough credit, especially if they lose the Finals, but Rick Carlisle is an incredible coach when it comes to adjustments. This will be an unbelievable test for him.

This is exactly my point. You put it more succinctly.

100% agree. Carlisle did a fantastic job this year. Every player on the team has bought into what the Pacers are doing, and they play as hard as any team in the league. That's usually a sign of good coaching.
Hartenstein is a mortal lock to become the most hated man in Indianapolis this summer.
Rick Carlisle is a great coach, much respect to him.
Pacers winning this title would leave the most amount of unbiased fans happy since ___ ?
Toronto beating KD and Steph?
This would be the Biggest Finals upset since when?
2004 Pistons over Lakers?

The only reason to hate okc is sga hardenism, right? How many non-degen fans can name three guys on each roster, or have watched enough okc? Why would any Boston Miami Knicks fan root for Indy?
Joking aside. OKC is a cool team too and SGA is pretty elite.
I believe the Pistons were a 6-1 underdogs according to Vegas but I'll never view that finals as an upset. Before the finals, Isiah was literally laughing on the phone with Dumars over how ****ed the Lakers were and everybody I knew felt the same way.
It was obvious at that point the Pistons had the greatest defense in the history of the game, the best bench in the NBA, and their Larry Brown motion offense where Rip Hamilton is running 10 miles a game was gonna torture the Lakers flat footed defense. I've never been more confident in my life going into a finals. I just wished I lived in Vegas back then. I was nervous vs the Lakers in 89, Portland 90 and Spurs 05. I knew the Lakers were drawing dead in 04, and it felt like the whole state of Michigan knew.

Thanks for saving me a lot of typing. The relative ease was shocking to unbiased me but not them winning. 6-1 ludicrous. Dallas over Miami, Toronto before the injuries hit, but honestly the biggest might still be GS sweeping Bullets in ‘75.

And regardless, nothing will ever approach Dallas over Miami for everyone pulling for one team.
I think a lot of people were happy fir Jokic & Giannis.
