President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
I, of course, didn't say or imply it was a "nothing burger."
I said it was a bad thing to say.
Please don't misrepresent what I say. Thanks.
I don't think I am misrepresenting anything. Its incredibly clear that you are willing to pay lip service but actually don't hold anything you say dear. Its incredibly clear because you ultimately support him modifying the constitution so you can vote for him a 4th time, despite that fact that hes sacrilegious

Trying to justify your hypocrisy and lack of principles via semantic pedantry is not "nuance".
You've already said a day or three ago that you are not interested in a serious conversation with me, so I will do you the honor of not answering your posts any more.
(Unless like libel me , or something.)

Okelly dokelly, just don't expect me to reciprocate. You crack on being a hypocrite and justifying your vote for the antichrist, and I'll carry on calling you out on it.
There is something to be said for Christians and other religious folks not engaging in politics.
As noted above by many posters, there is always a measure of compromise involved when a person of religious convictions votes for someone who does not share their religious convictions.
For example, in 2012 some conservative Christians thought it was wrong to vote for Romney, who was a Mormon.
It seems that many of the posters here might argue (and maybe they're right), that the conservatives would have been more consistent with their faith to have NOT vlted for Romney.
I think that may be a valid point for me to contemplate.
You Lefties around here are confusing me: Is Trump a Christian or not?
I'm being chastised by some for voting for Trump because he is NOT a Christian.
I'm confused.

According to leftists christianity is terrible, but republicans can only vote for what leftists consider a good christian.
Because logic and stuff
Right, you can be a terrible person and a hypocrite at the same time. Who knew!
This logic malarkey is pretty fun, you should try it some time.
Republicans tell you they are "christians" and then disregard christian values same as democrats tell you "they care about the poors" and then vote against homeless shelters in the neighbourhoods.
Everyone is always and only purely selfish and there is no "gotcha" in pointing that out.

But whatabout democrats!? Maybe we should re-litigate Hilary's emails?
any cliffs on what the MAGATs are circle jerking about today? did they chase down another brownie and/or get to kill one????
**** them
Just triggering woke lefty morons. That's all.
The usual stuff.
"****ing over people to pwn da libs!"
same ****, different day.

It sucks that Religion is mostly used to exploit dumb people. Its not necessarily the fault of dumb people they are dumb. Christianity isn't awful in itself.
But the bible is pretty clear in its multiple warnings about charlatans who claim to speak on behalf of god and instead of having the most basic principles around the foundation of their religeon, they are willing to throw it all out the window just to belong in the Right Wing ecosystem. Christianity teaches compassion and acceptance yet being Right Wing right now is about creating a white Christian ethno state which is incredibly anti Christian in every way.
Yet here we are, where white Christians are overwhelmingly Republican and seemingly all on board with the discrimination, hate, and sacrilege
