I honestly don't know the answer. Protests won't do much of anything I don't think. If they start building momentum he'll just send in the military to squash them. The republican party is part fascist, part spineless. We may not get to vote the next midterms. He's filled every top position in the military and justice system with sycophants. He's already started arresting people that stand up to him. Anyone that does anything bad in his name will get pardoned.

The fact that Washnigton DC is under federal jurisdiction, so any crimes committed there can only be prosecuted federally, and therefore pardoned by the president (or not prosecuted at all because lol at the notion of an independent DOJ under Trump) is beginning to seem like a bit of a leak in the system of checks and balances.
