Standard Spot, But Is This a Leak? [200NL Hand Review]
Preflop is an obvious 3-bet spot and not doing so was a mistake.
On the flop, I don’t think the original opener is ever slowplaying here — feels like he’s either pot-controlling with a weak top pair or giving up with an underpair.
The BTN stabs for half-pot. Should I be check-raising here and building a pot, or even barreling through? At the time I was more concerned about JT than AQ, which I assumed he would mostly 3-bet preflop.
As played, once we’re heads-up on the turn, is this a spot to check-raise for value/protection, or is it reasonable to shift into check-call mode given the board texture? River is obviously a clear all.

Also — worth noting GG took $9 rake from a $152 pot here. Between base rake and jackpot fees, it’s eating a ton of EV in marginal spots like this.
I am only getting back into poker but is that Rake even beatable?
Not sure about the rake imo it is going to be hard to beat any rake above 5% which is why you want to 3bet or fold generally. Check raise flop and or turn. You get value from at aj ax with back door flush draws. He is going to have a lot of combo pairs plus draws qjs kts etc.
