LV Trip Report, May 19th Start, 2 month, full WSOP schedule + Cash Games
Yo.
Just came in (from Europe), will update regularly when something interesting happens
Plan to play a lot of cash at ar
Getting clearer to me every day … mindset and positive energy is key for everything
Got all my money back plus some in under 3 hours, plus, super amazing:
Guys who owed me 1K since forever, I actually had forgotten about it, he approached me in the poker room , and I didn’t even recognize him (so long ago, plus he gained some weight)
And, I got my money back
There’s still hope friends
Let’s GOOOO!
Hooray for getting paid back
I’m also staying at the Excalibur this week and the AC is really noisy in my room too. Guess they’re older units.
Good luck and run good. Hit me up if you want to grab a drink or something anytime.

You can say that about a lot of things at Excal.
Update/Info:
No idea if it’s a new policy or they just do it during wsop times, but Aria clearly has some new VIP seating rules … depending on who shows up, they put a 9th chair in the main game, skipping the line and the regular order for must move games completely.
I’ve seen it in both 5-10 Nl and 5/5 Rock PLO games, 2-3 times in the last 2 days.
No idea who decides the „quality“ of the whale (floor or table), but then it could also be just how much tip is used … we are in Vegas

this has always been a thing. They grease the floor 100 and pretty much get full access, they normally are fun players tho thats an unspoken rule

Didn’t know, thx for info
Saw one guy though yesterday (I was at the table when he came in), he was definitely very loud and outspoken, but only with his mouth … didn’t play any hands at all.
Some whale that was ;-)))
Massive session, from was in for like 6K, finally cashed out 11kish, nice turnaround.
Few key hands (all aria, 5-5-10/20 rock game):
Bombpot, I get TTJK with king high diamonds.
Flop 1: 2-6-7 with 2 diamonds
Flop 2: AQ9 rainbow
So I got a massive draw on flop 2, and king high flush draw on the other, depending on action ahead of me I would probably let it go (when the nut flush draw is out there, I’m screwed) … but they all check and then the button bets pot 350 (7 players 50 each)
Few folds, and I call.
Turn brings in the flush, and a blank on the other . I check and he pots.
I decided to go with it, (he has only a little more), second nut flush and a big draw on the other, river a beautiful T, and I make nuts str, and my flush is also good, scoop.
Asian guy comes in, know him, very aggressive and good, always plays at night.
I open AAJ8 ss on the button, 1 caller, now he 3bets to 350, another caller behind, now I repot to 1550 (at that point I cover, like 7k deep, he has 3,3ish, the other guy a little over 2K)
He calls the 1500, now the other guy goes all in for 2K, we both obv call (can’t raise anymore).
Pot over 6K already, he has only 1,3K behind, obv I’m not folding anymore.
Flop 9-6-2 rainbow (with one spade, I have spades) … now, the funny part:
He tanks for a long time, goes to his chips, back and forth, and then finally checks. I of course go allin, and he instantly mucks.
I go twice with the other guy, but he was almost dead in the flop, he had AQJ5, and I scoop a nice 6,3K pot
With that good mojo I bluffed a guy off his set with the naked ace, for another 2K ish pot, and then called it a night
Great turnaround!
About how deep does the 5/5 rock game play? Is there a cap on buyins, or is it match the stack?
2 days ago saw a guy cashing out like 25K ish in that game … lots of gambling
Sick! One of my friends plays the 1-2 PLO game at Aria and if he’s up a decent amount after a couple of weeks grinding he shot takes that game. Last WSOP he managed to win $55k in like 3 sessions or something like that.
Registration and verification done, fairly easy and painless (went at night, only like 10 people in line), money loaded onto the app … now I’m ready to roll.
It’s gonna be a great summer
boom!!! very satisfying 10K+ cash plo session in the books, nice Lasagne from Allegro at Encore, and tmr NL 1K Mystery for this summer's first wsop tourney ... it's gonna be a great summer!!!
few key hands:
5-5-1-/20 game at aria
someone opens, i 3 bet AAQQ ds, 2 callers. my second hand of the session, 2K deep.
flop Q-9-6, 2 diamonds (i have hearts and spades).
guy checks, i bet 1/3 pot, he calls.
turn 2, second club, now 2 flush draws out there. i bet almost pot now (like 450 into 550), he calls.
river offsuit King. so the obvious str gets there, and he bets into me rather quickly full pot 1500ish
since i unblock all diamonds i def. put him on a flush draw (most likely nuts), now for him to have the str now, he needed AJTx with diamonds in his hand, somehow wouldn't believe that he didn't CR this hand on the turn. I call after short tank, he opens AJ82 for a bluff with J blocker only, i scoop a nice pot.
same game at wynn/encore.
very tight guy opens to 35 (no straddle on), all folds (no action game, was about to leave), i look at AA72 ss, and decide to only call in pos. for deception
flop AJ5 rainbow, he bets quickly 50, i raise quickly 200, make it look like i wanna steal this (like, what can i have here to raise, when i call only preflop). he calls. pot 485
turn 2. he checks, i check behind, make it look like i was bluffing on the flop and now shut down, hoping to get value on the river.
river 8. Aces are the nuts (besides for 34 which makes a wheel, but super unlikely on his part to have this hand. guy had like 10% VPIP, no hand that he opens in early pos that contains 3-4 (besides maybe KK34 ds, but then he's not calling my flop raise. i put him on Jacks now, that was my read of the situation.
so i bet poy now, he CR full pot to 1900, i call and he shows proudly Jacks as expected from me, and i win another nice pot.
last hand was easy for me, i call bad kings on the button after an open and 2 callers, flop KKQ (flop quads), initial raiser leads super small, guy in middle pos raises to 350, i just call, he had QQ99, turn 9 (horror card for him, now he thinks i have a king for trips, but very unlikely a boat bc he blocks everything), he pots, i go allin for a little more, and win obv.
very nice and relaxing when the cards go your way like that.
will try and take that run good into the tourney tmr.
very nice start to the trip
NL Mystery today, ran it up to 2x average in level 12, then busto short while later … very soft field, even I can tell being more of a PLO guy
Will prob do another bullet on Saturday, turnout getting bigger (over 6K players today), might even have a chance to crack last years numbers (unexpected I guess).
On a side note:
Aria doing the plo games wrong this year imo, opening up too many tables actually, which leads to all games being kinda short all the time
1-2 tables less with a short list definitely preferable
Venetian PLO 800 tourney today … let’s see if the new room has any clue what they are doing.
Played a tourney there last series, bought in, come to the table, see only one guy sitting, so decided to get an ice cream from a place nearby (could see the table from there).
Come back with it, still only 1 guy sitting (tourney had started), but the dealer is dealing and the guy is simply collecting blinds as fast as he can deal.
I go „wtf are you doing?“, 3 people to the table rule and so on, floor gets called over and confirmed „that’s how we do that here at Venetian“
;-))))
Gonna win my 1st bracelet tmr … thought I’d let you guys know
