Grunch: I would play exactly the same and be very happy the river paired the 8 and call.

Other than pf sizing being way too small and id prefer just jamming on the flop, I dont think this hand can really be criticized.

I think preflop is fine from BTN, if H is BB then a bit bigger might be better (but V can't donk flop then, so I assume that's a typo).
Calling flop seems obviously better than raise, unless we can read that he's always nutted (very possible when V donks here TBF) and just fold flop, because we can fold turn flush cards if he keeps firing.

Turn big bet with not much behind is very concerning ... I would still try not to hate my call turn / call river line, but it looks a lot like a fish with top set or maybe top two (assume JJ is more likely to go for flop x/r because it isn't blocking AK, if there's any thought at all and not just "lol, I have top set I bet").
I know it feels really bad when you sigh call river assuming he has KK a lot and he shows KK, but would save my self hate for those times I have better reads.

A straightforward fish who plays KK this way is very likely to be playing AK the same way. He hits the flop, so he bets! Expect to be ahead of his range on the river.
