LV Trip Report, May 19th Start, 2 month, full WSOP schedule + Cash Games
Yo.
Just came in (from Europe), will update regularly when something interesting happens
Plan to play a lot of cash at aria/wynn, plus around 10 tourneys.
1. immigration went pretty smooth, was a little worried upfront, but aside from a couple of follow up questions all nice and relaxed
2. checked in at Excalibur first, deal (price) was too good to pass on, room clean and nice, although air condition is really noisy when it runs
Welcome to LVL.
Look forward to reading about your poker journey.
are you in Excal for the entire time?
good luck
Surprised you couldn’t find an Airbnb apartment or house share for cheaper? There’s a ton within 5-10 mins of Strip
Eating out the whole time/not being able to prep will be expensive and would wear me down

Yeah, I looked, but what I found was either looking really shitty or very expensive, so decided to go this route
Maybe I’ll change my mind after a while, we’ll see (all the reservations can be cancelled for free)
Quick update:
First cash session in the books, pretty low traffic in the moment, I guess it’s the calm before the storm (played plo at aria)
And: people are still really bad in bomb pots …
Had some chats with floor people I know, one told me they hired a ton of new people (temporary), all with minimum training , they expect it to be a real sh** starting next week
Oh well, what else is new I guess :-)
Conversation I had with a dealer at the WSOP last year:
“How long you been dealing for?”
“I don’t know, what time is it?”
Table got a hearty LOL outta that.
Run well, looking forward to it!
PS: just found the best game in Vegas, but will not say where it is for obvious reasons ;-)
I’m also staying at the Excalibur this week and the AC is really noisy in my room too. Guess they’re older units.
Good luck and run good. Hit me up if you want to grab a drink or something anytime.

That AC at Excalibur woke me up several times a night when I (briefly) stayed there in April. Eventually I got so tired of it that I just turned it off. Not a viable strategy in the Vegas summer though, I assume.
Where in Europe are you from, OP?
Welcome to the US, LVL, and WSOP, Whiskeyjack! (though not necessarily in that order).
Be well, run good. Looking forward to the tales.
Small update:
1. Excalibur not as bad as I originally thought. Room is big and clean, and AC can be turned off when I wanna sleep, it’s cold enough when it runs all day
Walk to aria is exactly 18 mins (room to poker room), so that’s easy, and actually a good thing to do to relax and cool down after a long session
2. played 2 sessions so far, 5-5 rock plo broke at night, the 1-2/5 went through. Rock game was nitty and tight, the smaller game much more action and fun. Small profit in both, though should have won way more, took a 2K beat in the rock game:
Open 9-10-j-q ds, 1 caller, then very aggressive reg 3bets from the SB to 300, I call, the other guy folds
Flop j-5-6 rainbow , he bets 400, I call
Turn 9 (second heart, I don’t have hearts), he jams with aces and nut flush draw, I call obv (top 2 and open Ender), River Ace. Oh well … ;-(
Ps: thinking my call there is pretty standard, but him pushing when the obv str card comes in with only nut flush draw (SPR was a little over 1 at that point), I thought that was questionable… or am I wrong here? Feedback appreciated
all i can say: come down here and play bombpot guys ... just got a brutal beat, but seeing how those guys put in the money ... ****ing fantastic
Venetian 2/3 bomb pots were pretty wild for me last week
Bad start (financially) so far, lots of people coming in, everyone with full pockets and eager to play.
Took some not so nice beats, top set with flush blockers vs only nut flush draw, all in on flop, stuff like that … but that’s the game.
Gym time and some relaxation now … tmr is a new day
